Persimmon Plc ("the Company" )- Transfer of Shares held in Treasury

Persimmon Plc announces that on 4 September 2008 it transferred 2,167 Ordinary Shares to participants in the Persimmon Plc Long Term Incentive Plan to satisfy the exercise of options at a price of £7.465. On the same day, 25,000 Ordinary Shares were transferred to a participant in the Persimmon Plc Executive Share Option Scheme 1997 to satisfy the exercise of an option at a price of £3.06.

Following these transfers the Company holds 2,472,737 Ordinary Shares of 10p each in Treasury and the Company's issued share capital is 300,118,694 Ordinary Shares (excluding Treasury Shares).
