Transaction in Own shares

McBride PLC ("the Company") announces that on 21 September 2009, it purchased through Investec 190,000 of its ordinary shares at an average price of 196.0368p per share. The Company intends to hold these shares in treasury. 

Following the purchase of these shares, McBride plc holds 1,026,589 ordinary shares in treasury and has a total of 180,013,712 ordinary shares (excluding treasury shares) in issue.
