Results from Lubu Coal Project Highlight Coking Coal and Resource Potential

Sable Mining Africa Limited, the AIM listed resource company, is pleased to announce further results from its Lubu Coal Concession ('Lubu'), which covers 19,236 hectares of the highly prospective Karro Mid-Zambezi coal basin in the established Hwange (Wankie) mining district in north-western Zimbabwe. The third batch of results received from the ALS laboratory in South Africa, were taken from ten boreholes drilled.

The results listed in Table 1 below continue to emphasise the quality and continuity of this shallow deposit as well as the high coking coal fractions across multiple seams. The seam thicknesses are in general consistent over the four primary horizons, with the Main Seam averaging 16.87m. The grade parameters, including swelling indices, calorific values, ash content and volatility were consistent and strongly correlated to the first and second batches of results. The average yields were 21%, the same as those released from the first set of results.

A total of 350 Phase 1 samples have been submitted to the laboratory, of which 312 have been returned in three batches. The Company is awaiting the results of the last 10 holes, which are expected shortly and will complete the 30 hole Phase 1 drilling programme. Phase 2 is progressing well, which is in-filling the Phase 1 drill holes in order to increase the resource size, publish a JORC compliant figure and increase the level of confidence to Measured and Indicated. It is also expanding drilling in Area 2, which is south of the original drill location and is again targeting an increase in the resource figure.

Sable Mining CEO Andrew Groves said, "These results continue to emphasise the potential for Lubu to host a large multi-product coal deposit. The general continuity of the results with the previous two sets is highly encouraging as is the reported coking coal fraction. We are now modelling a product skeleton on the back of the metallurgical results to ascertain the potential of each seam and allow the Company to quantify the range of marketable coal product before commissioning a scoping study. Drilling is also continuing at pace, with the aim being to upgrade the current 360 million tonne resource estimate and publish a JORC compliant resource by mid year."
