The unaudited net asset value for Merrill Lynch Greater Europe Investment Trust plc at close of business on 29 August 2007 was:

Notes:

1. Investments have been valued on a bid price basis.

2. Revenue items included in net asset value, with dividends payable deducted on the ex-dividend date.

3. The undiluted net asset value above has been calculated based on 124,729,045 ordinary shares.

4. Following the implementation of the tender offer on 4 June 2007 4,885,076 shares are now held in treasury.
