Rank Group PLC30 June 2006 For Immediate Release 30 June 2006 The Rank Group Plc Disposals of Deluxe Media Services' UK DVD replication and UK distribution businesses The Rank Group Plc ("Rank") announces that Deluxe Media Services has todaycompleted the sale of its UK DVD replication business and its UK distributionbusiness ("the Businesses") to a subsidiary of Sony DADC ("Sony") for a cashconsideration of £5.9 million. As part of the transaction, Sony has acquired the assets of the Businesses andassumed certain liabilities. The cash consideration received by Rank is subjectto certain post-closing adjustments for working capital and other items. The DVD replication and distribution businesses that Sony has acquired fromDeluxe Media are, respectively, located in Southwater, West Sussex and Enfield,London. The disposals announced today are in line with Rank's previouslyannounced intention to exit Deluxe Media Services through the separate disposalsof individual businesses or assets. Rank is currently in discussions with a number of third parties for the disposalof the remaining assets of Deluxe Media Services and will make any furtherannouncements required in due course. Deluxe Media Services is an international manufacturer and distributor ofoptical media on behalf of content owners in the video, music, games, softwareand information industries. In the year to 31 December 2005, Deluxe MediaServices reported revenue of £267.1m and an operating loss before exceptionalitems of £16.4m.
