Guinness Peat Group ("GPG" or "the Company") announces that following an exercise of options under the Company's 1992 share option scheme, the interests of Mr A I Gibbs in the ordinary shares of GPG have changed as follows:

Mr Gibbs' interests in options over the ordinary shares of GPG under the Company's share option schemes has reduced accordingly. He now holds a total of 11,532,163 options exercisable between 17 January 2004 and 10 April 2018 at prices between 18.90p and 61.33p. There are no other changes to Mr Gibbs' interests in the shares of GPG or its quoted subsidiaries.
