The Government of the Russian Federation announced today that it intends to dispose of up to 10% of VTB Bank's charter capital held in federal ownership via a global offering to Russian and international institutional investors.
As part of the global offering which will begin on February 7, 2011, representatives of the Government and VTB Bank's management will hold a series of roadshow meetings with potential investors in Russia and abroad, based upon which Merrill Lynch, Deutsche Bank and VTB Capital, acting as joint bookrunners, will jointly build a book of demand from institutional investors. The transaction is expected to close in February 2011. Merrill Lynch and VTB Capital are acting as Joint Global Coordinators on this transaction.
The Government has also announced that it does not intend to dispose of any further shares in VTB Bank for a period of at least three months following completion of the transaction.
