Frank Rosenberger, GroupDirector Strategy andmember of TUI Group's Group Executive Committee (GEC), has been appointedas member of TUI Group's Executive Board with effect from 1 January 2017 bythe Group's Supervisory Board. He has been appointed for a three-year termof office, initially as Deputy Executive Board member in the first year.Rosenberger will assume responsibility for IT and New Markets. TUI isseeking to enhance digitalisation and expand innovative technologies andbusiness segments. The company also faces increasing requirementsassociated with a highly efficient IT infrastructure and IT security. Inorder to reflect the critical importance of these areas, the SupervisoryBoard and Executive Board have created the new Executive Board role. Thenew innovative growth areas include the online tourism platform LTE,through which TUI aims to tap new global customer groups and markets,including Spain, Portugal, Turkey or Brazil. The development of the Asianmarket, where the Group recently entered into a cooperation scheme withChinese online provider Alibaba's travel platform, is to additionallypromote dynamic strategic and operative developments. Frank Rosenberger isan industrial engineer. Prior to joining TUI in autumn 2015, he had heldgroup-wide responsibility for the global development of new business areasat Vodafone Group Plc. The role of TUI Group Director Strategy will be taken over by Henrik Homann(54), Managing Director OneAviation in charge of the activities of theGroup's five leisure airlines. In assuming the new Group function, Homannwill also join the Group Executive Committee from 1 January 2017. HenrikHomann joined TUI Group in 1995. From 1999 to 2014, his roles had includedCFO and HR Director as well as Labour Director for the Group's subsidiaryTUI Germany.
