Trans-Siberian Gold PLC16 October 2006 Trans-Siberian Gold plc Notification of major interest in shares LONDON: 16 October 2006 - Trans-Siberian Gold plc ("TSG" or "the Company")(TSG.L) reports that, following an enquiry under section 212 of the CompaniesAct 1985, UFG Asset Management ("UFGAM") notified the Company on 13 October 2006that UFG Russia Select Fund Limited ("UFG Select Fund") has a beneficialinterest in 1,702,000 ordinary 10p shares in the Company, representing 4.13% ofTSG's issued shares, and that this interest is registered in the name of BearStearns Securities Corporation. UFGAM has further notified the Company that the UFG Select Fund interest wasacquired on the following dates: 3 February 2006 541,000 shares at US$1.85 per share; 6 February 2006 541,000 shares at US$1.81 per share; 14 March 2006 520,000 shares at £1.01 per share; and 31 March 2006 100,000 shares at £0.99 per share. UFGAM has confirmed that the above UFG Select Fund interest is in addition tothe 25.0% interest of UFG Private Equity Fund ILP in TSG shares announced on 16February 2006 and that UFGAM's total interest in TSG shares amounts to11,993,000 shares (29.13%).
