NEW CONTRACTS

SciSys plc (stock code: SSY) - the specialist supplier of IT services is pleased to announce the award of new contracts.

Following a rigorous selection process, the Media and Broadcast Division of SciSys has been awarded a multi-million euro order by Deutsche Welle to renew its current digital audio production and playout system. The contract has been placed with VCS AG, a German based subsidiary of SciSys plc.

Over the next two years, VCS will be implementing its dira! system tailored exactly to the requirements of the customer. Deutsche Welle is to use the system to produce and broadcast its programmes in 30 languages for all the world's regions in a daily production volume amounting to more than 100 hours. The object of the project is to replace the existing digital audio production and playout system in Bonn and Berlin with a state-of-the-art hardware and software environment. The order also includes training and a long term maintenance contract.

Mike Love, Chairman of SciSys, commented "We are proud and delighted that Deutsche Welle, having thoroughly examined our rivals' bids has decided in favour of VCS and its dira! software, and in doing so jointhe community of leading international broadcasters that VCS already serves".

In addition the Space Division has just been awarded a major contract with Thales Alenia Space Antwerp for the Galileo Network Monitoring Facility (GNMF).  The contract has also been placed with VCS AG. The GNMF as a facility of the Galileo Mission Data Dissemination Network is responsible for the monitoring and control of the whole network infrastructure, which connects all sites within the Galileo system. Galileo is a planned global navigation satellite system, being built by the European Union (EU) and European Space Agency (ESA).

Mike Love further commented "VCS is already working on two other components of the Galileo ground segment for EADS Astrium and Thales Alenia Space France, the "Ground Assets Control Facility" and the "Central Monitoring and Control Facility". These provide central functions for archiving as well as monitoring and control of all facilities and data flows. This latest piece of good news cements VCS' position as the most successful German software company involved in the Galileo ground segment and gives the Space Division a strong order book looking out to 2009".
