London, UK - 28 August 2014: Spirent Communications plc ("the Company") (LSE: SPT), a leading communications technology company, would like to notify the market in accordance with the Financial Conduct Authority's ("FCA") Disclosure and Transparency Rules of the following changes in the interests of a Director / Person Discharging Managerial Responsibility resulting from their participation in the UK Spirent Employee Share Purchase Plan ("ESPP"):

The Company was notified on 27 August 2014 that the following Director / Person Discharging Managerial Responsibility for the Company acquired shares under the Spirent UK Employee Share Purchase Plan 2005 (UK ESPP) on 26 August 2014 at a price of £1.026000 per share, to be held through Spirent UK Employee Share Purchase Plan 2005 (ESPP):

UK ESPP

The UK ESPP is an all-employee plan, under which UK employees are able to buy Ordinary Shares in the Company of 3 1/3 pence each using deductions from salary.

Directors and others are bound by the Company's Share Dealing Code (the "Code") and may not change their monthly deductions from salary during close periods or when otherwise prohibited from dealing by the Code.
