Skyepharma PLC01 March 2006 For Immediate Release 1 March 2006 SkyePharma PLC ("the Company") As a result of transactions on 1 March 2006 by the SkyePharma PLC Share PurchasePlan (an Inland Revenue approved all employee share purchase plan), MichaelAshton and Donald Nicholson, directors of the Company, as trustees of the Plan,became the beneficial owners of an additional 3,500 Ordinary Shares of theCompany, bringing the total held by the Plan to 174,505 Ordinary Shares of theCompany. As a result the executive directors of the Company have the following additionalinterests as a result of their personal participation in the Plan:- Partnership Shares Matching Shares Total number of purchased on 1 March 2006 awarded on 1 March Partnership and at £0.4075 per share 2006 at £0.4075 per Matching Shares held share on 1 March 2006 Michael Ashton 307 307 21,868Donald Nicholson 307 307 21,868 In accordance with the rules of the Plan these directors have been awarded theMatching Shares on the basis of one Matching Share for each Partnership Share. The beneficial ownership of the Matching Shares will pass to the directors inthree years' time subject to continued employment and the retention of theunderlying Partnership Shares.
