Skyepharma PLC04 July 2006 For Immediate Release 4 July 2006 SkyePharma PLC ("the Company") As a result of transactions on 4 July 2006 by the SkyePharma PLC Share PurchasePlan (an Inland Revenue approved all employee share purchase plan), FrankCondella and Donald Nicholson, directors of the Company, as trustees of thePlan, became the beneficial owners of an additional 5,692 Ordinary Shares of theCompany, bringing the total held by the Plan to 203,040 Ordinary Shares of theCompany. Frank Condella is a newly appointed trustee of the Plan with effect from 3 July2006, following the retirement of Michael Ashton as trustee on the same date. As a result the executive directors of the Company have the following additionalinterests as a result of their personal participation in the Plan:- Partnership Shares Matching Shares Total number of purchased on 4 July 2006 awarded on 4 July 2006 Partnership and at £0.3175 per share at £0.3175 per share Matching Shares held on 4 July 2006Frank Condella 394 394 1,472Donald Nicholson 394 394 24,624 In accordance with the rules of the Plan these directors have been awarded theMatching Shares on the basis of one Matching Share for each Partnership Share. The beneficial ownership of the Matching Shares will pass to the directors inthree years' time subject to continued employment and the retention of theunderlying Partnership Shares.
