Skyepharma PLC31 January 2005 For Immediate Release 31 January 2005 SkyePharma PLC ("the Company") As a result of transactions on 31 January 2005 by the SkyePharma PLC SharePurchase Plan (an Inland Revenue approved all employee share purchase plan),Michael Ashton and Donald Nicholson, directors of the Company, as trustees ofthe Plan, became the beneficial owners of an additional 4,888 Ordinary Shares ofthe Company, bringing the total held by the Plan to 120,345 Ordinary Shares ofthe Company. As a result the executive directors of the Company have the following additionalinterests as a result of their personal participation in the Plan:- Partnership Shares Matching Shares Total number of purchased on 31 awarded on 31 Partnership and January 2005 at January 2005 at Matching Shares £0.645 per share £0.645 per share held on 31 January 2005 Michael Ashton 194 194 15,302Donald Nicholson 194 194 15,302 In accordance with the rules of the Plan these directors have been awarded theMatching Shares on the basis of one Matching Share for each Partnership Share.
