Skyepharma PLC02 August 2005 For Immediate Release 2 August 2005 SkyePharma PLC ("the Company") Share Purchase Plan As a result of transactions on 1 August 2005 by the SkyePharma PLC SharePurchase Plan (an Inland Revenue approved all employee share purchase plan),Michael Ashton and Donald Nicholson, directors of the Company, as trustees ofthe Plan, became the beneficial owners of an additional 5,400 Ordinary Shares ofthe Company, bringing the total held by the Plan to 152,527 Ordinary Shares ofthe Company. As a result the executive directors of the Company have the following additionalinterests as a result of their personal participation in the Plan:- Partnership Shares Matching Shares Total number of purchased on 1 August awarded on 1 August Partnership and 2005 at £0.5925 per share 2005 at £0.5925 per Matching Shares held share on 1 August 2005 Michael Ashton 211 211 17,970Donald Nicholson 211 211 17,970 In accordance with the rules of the Plan these directors have been awarded theMatching Shares on the basis of one Matching Share for each Partnership Share. The beneficial ownership of the Matching Shares will pass to the directors inthree years' time subject to continued employment and the retention of theunderlying Partnership Shares.
