Monday 5 November 2007 PHOTO-ME INTERNATIONAL PLC Appointment of a CEO-designate Photo-Me (PHTM.L), the digital imaging company, announces the appointment ofThierry Barel as CEO-designate. He will be appointed CEO when Serge Crasnianskisteps down. Thierry Barel, aged 46, is a French national and has been in charge of Photo-Me's minilab manufacturing activity since April 2007. Previously, he was atStaeubli Group from 1984 to 2006, latterly as Chief Executive Officer from 2005to 2006 and as Corporate Development Officer and member of the Group ExecutiveCommittee from 2001 to 2004. The Swiss-based Staeubli Group is involved inmechatronics (textile machinery, robotics and industrial connectors); in 2006,it had a turnover of SFr1bn, sales units in 24 countries, 13 production unitsand 3,500 employees. Thierry Barel graduated as an engineer from Ecole NationaleSuperieure des Arts et Metiers (ENSAM) in 1983 and speaks five languages -French, English, Italian, Portuguese and German. When at Staeubli Group, heworked in Switzerland, France, the USA and Brazil. He has much less to learn aboutthe Group than an external appointee, yet is new enough to the Group to have,and be receptive to, fresh ideas."
