Maghreb Minerals PLC02 July 2007 Maghreb Minerals Strengthens its Board Maghreb Minerals Plc ("Maghreb" or "the Company"), the AIM-quoted explorationcompany developing base metal and industrial mineral deposits in North Africa,is pleased to announce the appointment to the Board of Directors of Dr ChrisClayton (49) and Dr Alastair Baird (53) as an alternate Director with effectfrom 2 July 2007. After several years as advisors to the Company, Dr Clayton and Dr Baird joinedthe Company in March 2007 as Consultant Geologists, and their appointment asdirectors brings a wealth of experience to the Board. Both have specialistknowledge of sedimentary structures and geochemistry as these relate to thedeposition of sedimentary-hosted lead-zinc mineralisation in the region. Theirdetailed field mapping and the evaluation of structural and stratigraphicsettings for lead-zinc mineralisation led to the formulation of thethrust-related geological model which the Company is following as the basis forthe exploration and evaluation of its assets in Tunisia. Dr Chris Clayton BSc, PhD, ARSM, FGS served as a geoscientist with BP Researchbefore forming an international business in 1992 based in the UK workingpredominantly in petroleum exploration worldwide, and also in base metals. Dr Alastair Baird BSc, MSc, D.I.C., PhD, FGS, C.Geol (University of Kingston,UK) has consulted for both major and junior oil and mineral companies for over20 years. Gordon Riddler, Executive Chairman commented: "I am very pleased to welcome Chris Clayton and Alastair Baird to the Board ofthe Company. They will take executive responsibility for the exploration andgeology programme in Tunisia. Since joining as consultants, their expertise andlocal knowledge is proving to be invaluable through an increasing understandingof available data and focusing the work programme going forward. "Following the fundraising and with three drilling rigs now in operation inTunisia, Chris and Alastair will provide the necessary additional knowledge andexpertise to assist the Company's General Manager in Tunisia with theaccelerated and substantial exploration and evaluation programme. This focuseson verifying and expanding the significant known resources aiming to make anearly start to mining on the Company's exploration permits which cover threepast-producing mines."
