JSC KazMunaiGas Exploration Production
held an Open Day Event
"RD OPEN"
Astana, 27 May, 2010. Following the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, JSC KazMunaiGas Exploration Production ("KMG EP" or the "Company") held an open day event "RD Open" on 26 May 2010. Representatives of local mass media were invited for the event.
Opening the meeting, General Manager on oil and gas projects of the National Company KazMunaiGaz ("NC KMG") Sisengali Utegaliyev emphasized the importance of the event and expressed his gratitude to all the attendees. In the course of the open day, KMG EP provided the audience with information on the main issues of its current operations. The CEO Kenzhebek Ibrashev presented the history of the Company, its strategy and the benefits for the state, shareholders and population from KMG EP's operations. The Managing director of Business Development Dastan Abdulgafarov presented the main directions of the Company's acquisition strategy. The chief geologist Bazar Eskozha shared the plans of KMG EP on increasing its resource base through geological exploration. The other speakers were deputy to General Director Zhanneta Bekezhanova, Chief technical director Abat Nurseitov, HSE director Ruslan Adiyev, HR director Esen Amanzholov, and experts from other companies.

KMG EP is among the top three Kazakh oil and gas producers. The overall production in 2009 was 11.5mmt (an average of 232kbopd) of crude oil, including the Company's share in Kazgermunai and CCEL. The volume of proved and probable reserves (2P) of KMG EP as at the end of 2009 was 234mmt (1.7bn barrels); while including the share of reserves from associates and joint ventures, preliminary about 2.2 bn barrels.
