China Goldmines today announces that Dr Evan Kirby will not stand for re-election at the AGM to be held later this morning. As the Company transitions from a mining to an investing company Dr Kirby considers that it is appropriate for him to step down from the Board although he will continue to offer his services to the Company on a consultancy basis if required.
The Board thanks Dr Kirby for his valuable service to the Company helping to progress the Guanzhuang gold prospect.
Commenting today Mr Frank Vanspeybroeck, CEO, said: "Dr Kirby's significant technical expertise was highly valuable whilst we were developing the Guanzhuang gold prospect in China. On behalf of the Board, and the wider Company, I would like to thank Dr Kirby for his service and wish him well for the future".
