Aviva plc to propose the appointment of Ernst & Young LLP as new auditor from 2024
Aviva plc (the "Company") announces its intention to appoint Ernst & Young LLP ("EY") as its auditor for the financial year ending 31 December 2024, subject to shareholder approval at the 2024 Annual General Meeting.
The selection of EY has been approved by the Aviva plc Board and follows an extensive competitive tender process, which was overseen by the Company's Audit Committee. PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP ("PwC"), Aviva's current external auditor, will continue in its role and, subject to reappointment by the Company's shareholders at the 2022 and 2023 Annual General Meetings, will undertake the audit for the financial years ending 31 December 2022 and 2023. PwC were appointed as auditors to the Company for the financial year ending 31 December 2012.
