Afren plc ('Afren' or 'the Company')
Award of Shares
The Company announces that on 6 November 2008 it allotted, conditional on admission, 2,374,102Ordinary Shares of 1p each in the Company to Energy Investment Holdings, representing payments in relation to Afren's acquisition of Devon's interests in Côte d'Ivoire and the Strategic Alliance with Sojitz Corporation. The shares will rank pari passu with the existing Ordinary Shares of 1p each in the Company. Application for admission has been made for the shares, which is expected to be effective on 13 November 2008.
Following the share issue, the Company's outstanding issued share capital will be 446,271,536 Ordinary Shares.
