Absolutly nothing wrong with getting exited about the futur. Why there were not enough of you early on I will never know. When Mansur first surveyed the concession (38+ prospects) he found difficult deciding where to drill first. Evidence of mineralisation was everywhere. Enthusiasm and respect. Are we not dealing here with land and forests untouched since the dawn of time?
P.Bird repeatedly warn shareholders to be patient as KSK has the potential to give so much more than is so far understood. He does that because Asiamet need your support. He must be cringing when he hear people talking about a takeover now. These are probably the same people who would have advocating for a sale out when the Company MC was a mere 6 Mil. Whoa someone is offering 12 Mil.!!! Lets double our money and move on. Big deal. But I am reassured when I also read where Peter is saying that " Asiamet is very committed to building sustainable long-term value for all its stakeholders " For me It means that this Company has a long way to go before (if) it chose to fade away. I would expect the Company then to be looking after the very long term investors. Those who have supported this venture for many many years and who most of them are still out of pocket. I would hope this is part and parcel of the Company CSR .
You may be right I may well be biased so let me reiterate that what is first and foremost my overriding opinion : KSK CONCESSION IS UNLIKE ANY OTHER! and so the Company who is going to develop it has to act accordingly. ie: has to reflect its uniqueness So for me, anyone who treat this venture like any common other is rubbing the wrong way and when someone is supporting the argument that it is to early to dig into the Company pockets I cannot agree. Why on earth it is not realistic? Not realistic because you worry that when you approach the large institutions they will disapprove? CSR is not about money it is a culture. Like any culture it needs to be constantly nurtured. Planting seeds in the ground is not sufficient if we wish to have a bountiful harvest. Look at our website. The last community newsletter date back to 2016. When was the last time we heard either Tony, Steve or Peter mentioning anything about CSR. Is that how you successfully promote the culture within the Company if you had a vision of what will be required ? Or do they think that all they need to do is set later on an arbitrary sum for it in the budget? Look now. The proof is starting to emerge that in KSK we will have a good well. Like all generous well it will keep on filling our buckets no matter what. So I believe no one should be affrayed, specially the shareholders, small or large, to be accepting from the beginning to put their hand in their pocket (embracing the fact that the range and support of stakeholders may be much broader than common practice) Good luck all with your choice.
Presidential election next year may be more of a concern. IMO for an unimpeded futur Asiamet really need to strengthen is CSR and not wait for the production cash flow. This is something that Kalimantan Gold understood was important and aware from the start. I am yet to be convinced that Asiamet has its finger on that pulse. Is anyone aware that when Freeport signed the JV there was a campaign to try to shut KSK down? Some false rumors were spread - which was an easy thing to do because of Freeport's reputation- We should not be naive to think that there will not be any opposition when thing will start speeding up. A good name and social engagement gaining support from the local population will fend off detractors.
It is silly to suggest that they do not take into the rainfall into account. Mansur has been there on the spot for the last 30 years and Peter Pollard joined the Company in 2008. (author of the KSK summary posted Thu 04:57)
but gives a good account of KSK amazing potential. http://sciencedocbox.com/Geology/66156404-Pt-kalimantan-surya-kencana-november-2009.html
Had a little chuckle imagining Tony's wish to fast track a supposedly small deposit for the sole purpose of progressing a known larger one. It reminded me of a quote from Murray (RIP) KLG CEO saying: "we were looking for a chicken and we stumbled on an elephant"
(copied from another FBB) @'bernardshaw' on the CEO.CA website - a retired Aussie mining industry professional who is a shareholder in ARS and Tigers Realm(5 years+) and knows Beutong's history, geology and Tony Manini's long involvement in it very well. @bernardshaw The ARS situation is not your usual scenario where a discovery is made, the drill progresses the discovery thru the JORC classes, then a period of development then mining. It is starting with a known small discovery and in reality fast tracking it for the sole purpose of progressing a known larger discovery. This was TM's vision a long way back, further back than many of us realize. A very innovative way of avoiding dilution at the mercy of institutions. So what I am saying is this; to stay in this particular game 2018 is, in my view, THE critical year for your ARS LTH's and they should do their utmost to stay in the game as best they can. My guess is that TM will engineer exactly this not just for his benefit but for the benefit of those who can stay with him. @bernardshaw Tom, the drill is unlikely to get below 750m. The following is entirely my opinion...that ARS management need to manage this wild beast and have struck a conservative stance whereby they don't have to prove too much more than is already proven...viz., put their toes a little further into the water (below 500m) while satisfying the terms of the Licence. This deposit does not belong to Asiamet, it belongs to Indonesia. We are there to create a mutually beneficial outcome. I think that the Aussies and Canadians there would love to drill down and down until they get to the heart of Beutong but know their place as guests in someone else's house. @bernardshaw timely historical note for you that I think is close to the truth, to put the recent increase in Beutong ownership in context. Firstly, I personally believe that this event is more significant than most others in the history of Asiamet. In the time before Tigers Realm did their RTO of Kalimantan Gold, Tony Manini was, so to speak, like a man alone in the desert. Nobody wanted to invest in copper** and he had to beg and borrow to get drill holes into Beutong. Drillers were also begging and borrowing and Tony had holes drilled by paying drillers in equity. But Tony had a vision that things would turn as they have done. Tony was offered a substantial amount for Beutong but refused. I for one wasn't happy but I am not up to Tony's speed. I thought for a while that we had lost Beutong and so today I stand in awe of his foresight and so should we all. To have engineered us through the desert to a point where nothing was lost is far more significant for Asiamet than is BKM plus BKK....I think! (If he THINK right we certainly have here in ARS a giant of the futur because I THINK that KSK is bigger than Beutong) ** can be argued because at the same time Freeport was spending $12Mil a year on KSK
Your 22:20 post (deleted?) (end of the day what everyone is only interested in is going back to mining) Sadly IMO you unwittingly hit the nail right on the head. All those years KLG motto was" our exploration effort and community effort are one and the same" . Admittingly, for a reason or another we were continuously struggling. Yet, ever so convinced that what is buried at KSK is of no ordinary magnitude (as you all now starting to appreciate). It felt like a real opportunity to demonstrate that if wealth can be equitably distributed there are only winners. (Aristotle- the whole is greater than the sum of its parts) With the coming of Tony and the Tiger Group ( fancy that :=) a group of tigers is called an "ambush" ) the effort has narrowed into the single objective of exploration/mine/marketcap. Granted that all the shareholders should welcome the fact that the financial side and the caliber of management of this venture has greatly improved. But, on the other hand would it not be just a great loss if the pool of custodians , stakeholders and other potential beneficiaries of this vast wealth shrunk.. Good luck all with your choice.
I invite everyone to recommend Daisan post. Mining has such an appalling record in many part of the world, specially in very remote area.Lets hope not to add to that . If a mine gets built and other prospects (which we all hope for) come on line this area and the people will be experiencing unprecedented changes. Without providing real assistance with the transition some of those changes are bound to become disruptive and affect the Company performance. Lets all wish the discovery of minerals brings out benefits in more ways than one.
--- The question many of us are asking, I think, is Can we evolve from the mostly profit driven business model to a more inclusive approach to business and development one that takes to heart the interests of all stakeholders in a balanced way? ---- KSK newsletter Vol3-May2013 It there in the whole world a better opportunity not to fall into opportunism?
Chartist you can treat this share as any others if you wish but I am surprised that you have not yet realised that ARS is not your run of the mill type Company. Maybe you could do some broader research beside share movement. For a starter, according to your knowledge, try to predict the odds for a Company to survive 30 years purely on exploration without any revenue and carry a 12p share price tag? Good luck
What we get is what we don't see . ARS at the cross road? An opportunity unparalleled in history of mining or gentle reminder at what it will takes if we want to ensure our claim to futur exceptional discoveries ------- What has astonished you about the KSK project? I see the KSK project as a worldleading experiment. The question many of us are asking, I think, is Can we evolve from the mostly profit driven business model to a more inclusive approach to business and development one that takes to heart the interests of all stakeholders in a balanced way? Nothing in this world is perfect. But my observation of the people in KSK is that they are genuine to the core. ------ Taken for ARS website - KGC Newsletter-Vol3
As a Kalimantan Gold shareholder it is easy to see that Beutong has little or no bearing on the current price. At the time of the combining of the two, KLG had over $55Mil in exploration to its credit and the subsequent increase in mc are entirely due to KSK progress. I mentioned that fact some time ago and now Tony confirms it himself. When the timing is right Beutong will shine and prove a very valuable asset for the Company. That time imo will come when the Company will need to call on all its strength to retain and develop KSK. Unless of course the large holders will decide to call it a day and wanting to cash in their chips. It will become harder and harder to resist that is for sure. This is why I maintain the hope that Tony has loftier ambition than just wanting to become rich. I believe that what you get is what you don' t see. At some point this share will skyrocket and everybody will be surprised and yet no one will be. Look at it this way. It took more than 20 years for the people at large to found out that BKM had a viable resource and that BKZ was a strong commercial possibility. Now how quickly people will begin to add things up when/if we start to dig up good grades in BK South and the West Zone and that: ... the Beruang Block is defined to include the BK Cu/Au project with its peripheral polymetallic zones, the BT Cu/Au/Mo prospect and adjoining gold zone and the low zone Cu/Au/base metal prospect located between BK, BT and the Kalang prospects ... the mineralisation is widespread but most developed within a N/W-S/E major transfer structure which contains the BK,BT,Kalang, Mansur and Mansur North prospects, in addition to several significant geophysical anomalies. The Mgt considers that this corridor of mineralisation has the potential to contain a number of significant deposits and its immediate focus is the BK area- KLG - Oct.2000) And we are not mentioning Baroi and other significant potential deposits located on other parts of KSK. These ARS shares are like money you deposit on a savings account. You don' t trade them.IMO If you do you that you will in time, see them reaching the 50 P mark. P for pound that is! :=)
