BP adr finished c £3.12.
Expected this to retreat at end of Q1 buyback. But not much with economy opening up.
In the meantime, 18 June dividend payment to look forward to.
Agami, I calculated a slightly different method and came up with total buyback spend $499.5m to 20 May. The RNS says 'around' $500m. So either method, it looks like this qtr buybacks are done.
Happy to be corrected.
They are reviewing distributions qtr by qtr.
Q2 should deliver additional cash for distribution but wait and see what the BoD decide re change to div policy vs buybacks. I cant imagine they change div policy until end of year.

BP ADR closed $26.73/6/1.3978 = £3.1872.
Is there any correlation? Month candles are GBP/$, line is BP SP

'I am one of the unfortunate people who invested a sizable chunk of there pension in BP.'
Me too. Feels like we will get some or all of it back. Have to hold through the noise imo
Interesting that Vod SP recovered c30% on the employee incentive plan price.
If BP average is (say) 300 over 90 days, perhaps we will see 390. Perhaps the recent weakness is in part BP treasury function covering?
Guess 294 tomorrow if we follow US
I think you are right. If I try to trade this weekly cycle I think I get shut out of the Q1 price and div. Hold for me
Looking at net assets 31 Dec 2020. Both targets are c41% of net assets (realisable value per the stats..)
Major difference is BP reached their target quicker?

If you are a lth, you will receive 4 divs pa and get your target. At any point, you can top slice and reduce your risk to BP.
If you bought sub £2, well done, just enjoy the income and capital growth imo
In a sample of 1, me, with a relatively well diversified portfolio that had to withstand the market declines, particularly value stocks from 2016/17, BP should be 350 at this stage in the recovery relative to other stocks in my portfolio. Q1 results will likely do the trick. In any event, I would like a couple of years of modest capital and dividend growth and can understand the big pension funds circling, like norway sovereign fund gla
