I agree Chris.
And in addition cinemas will be a chance to do something fun and practice social distance away from the mindless lot who don't seem to care anymore. No alcohol, safer families, people staying in one place for the duration.
A delay to big films is sensible. Much better to delay a short while if it means getting more public confidence and bigger audience. Better for us in the big picture.
Not particularly enlightening but a short video on the failed Cineplex deal:

Fingers crossed Friday is not as bad as Wednesday and Thursday...
It is certainly volatile, but Covid I think is going to became more of a regional issue than a national one perhaps. Cinemas may close in Texas, they may close in the North-West at time, in Scotland at others and so on. But no full-on shutdown as we saw in March imo. Not saying it will not affect the release of films of course. We shall see, certainly a little uneerving but fingers crossed.
I think you make a good point to illustrate how quickly this share went back up. I am holding at an avg of 82p and considered a sell earlier in the week at 80p, and maybe a rebuy later. Wish I had now! Like you though I remain confident in Cine long term.
Remember Covid and the US is very much factored in to this price. It is not new news that 70% plus of cine is in America. Spikes and outbreaks are going to be the norm that's why shares are 70p and not £1.40. But a rise in cases does not mean the end, as much as a fall in cases doesn't mean it's all over. It's a bumpy ride and was always going to be.
Investeroid, where is your source for saying several states are worried their hospitals will soon be over capacity?
This share price was 76p at close last Monday and could easily close at 76p next Monday.
People like to write what they want to happen. If you held a gun to their head for an accurate prediction, they would not necessarily give that answer. People like to be optimistic and read optimism, guess it is human nature. But yeh, definitely take with a pinch of salt anyone who says it is definitely going up or down (me included!). The real truth - no one is really sure especially in these times!
No point arguing on a forum here guys. It is going to be a bumpy rise and was always going to be. The only plus side of this drop today is it should stop the nightly posts of "This will be £1 tomorrow" b**locks". If the US gets it's house in order at some point we will be fine.
For me the SP is massively dependent on developments in the US at the moment.
Some more encouraging virus news over there and I think we are good to go. The cinema element I am not worried about, film can and will survive everything and the big screen will always have a place.
I think it will, but it will probably need some positive virus news from the US to do so. When that happens and they start opening up things should be good. Investeroid's post this morning was a good analysis I think, the security of the additional loan funds is useful too.
Thanks Investeroid, agree totally. I was also concerned about the debt situation and this is really reassuring. Still feel like I am punting against the US pandemic slightly but then who isn't at the moment. Film and cinema will be around forever and will survive this, and hopefully an upturn in SP won't be far away. I'm interested to see how the film times will be staggered at my big cineworld here in Leeds.
And perhaps we have used up all the good weather and the rain and cold will drive up cinema audiences comes mid-July!
Thanks, an interesting read.
A good analysis there. Not as optimistic as you about 225-270p in December, but definitely see good things ahead. I hope your estimate proves correct :-)
AMC shooting up in the States early on today, hope to be able to have full seating without masks by thanksgiving.
Just be careful with CFD's as racandfz says the margin calls can make things tricky.

I like your email, let's hope they dignify you with an adequate response bud.
Maybe just trying to save face and look the good guy?
I think his instruction is irreversible.
haha indeed, zero questions - convenient.
