Listen to our latest Investing Matters Podcast episode 'Uncovering opportunities with investment trusts' with The AIC's Richard Stone here.
Vaccine for the general population is still months if not years away.......and as the Oxford consortium recognises may not ever happen..................
Excellent coverage of TILS liver and breast cancer treatments on Proactiveinvestor.com
For those who haven't done it recently it's worth listening again to the ProActive interview with Richard Marsden of March 23 .....very measured and refreshing assessment of possibilities of SNG-001......With dosing having started in the initial trial (100 patients starting in Soton and rolling out around the country) in the week beginning March 30, and with 8 weeks for the trial duration, then the first results should be due out week beginning May 25....not long to wait
So investz please copy and paste from the Feb 2019 RNS where it says about the shares ending their lock-in period in Aug 2020 ........
I have looked at the details of the placing of Feb 19 and as far as I can see there is no 'lock in' period - the only mention of Aug 2020 is 'Expected date of issue of (42,800,000) Deferred Consideration Shares - not before 1 August 2020' which represents less than 6% of the shares in issue.
Talk on SNG of EU collaboration using AI to tackle Covid-19 ...... haven’t looked into it at all myself but just wondering if DMTR might also be involved totally off the top of my unresearched head.
......and other companies connected to the CV problem, eg body scanners (WSG), waste water analysis (SKIN, MWG), premise cleaning (RTO, REAT), handwash manufacturers (BYOT), .....any others?
I may have missed this in all the excitement of the development of MWG's membrane division, but do we know if MWG's US water monitoring division, liquidated in Aug 2019, is still a part of the business....and with the current developments with Covid-19 detection, could it now be brought out of liquidation if considered to be of future importance. For reference the Aug RNS follows:
'Modern Water, the owner of world-leading technologies for water and wastewater treatment and for water quality monitoring, announces that it intends to restructure its group of companies with the aim of focusing on its innovative membranes process technologies.
The Company is in advanced negotiations to sell the assets of Modern Water Inc., the Company's US-based monitoring division. The boards of Modern Water Services Limited and Cogent Environmental Ltd have decided to appoint liquidators.
In keeping with the new strategy of focusing on its core innovative membrane process technologies, Modern Water has decided to retain control of Surrey Aquatechnology Limited, a subsidiary which holds most of the Group's patents.
Simon Humphrey, Modern Water's CEO, said: "We are working on overcoming our liquidity problems in order to retain a restructured business that can service our customers with world-leading innovative technologies."
Does anybody have the link to the recent written interview with the CEO where he talked about 98% accuracy of the test, down to the quality of the Mologic ingredients, with the product launch due for next week?
......and the Government is getting hit hard for their treatment of the elderly in Care Homes......can you imagine what a positive effect this announcement would have there?
As others have said, the future looks like EVERYONE having a Covid-19 kit.....as soon as symptoms show then a self- tester is used (maybe AVCT or NCYT) and if a positive result then straight onto the Synairgen inhaler.......rather than waiting at home (using no treatment at all) hoping that the symptoms don't get so bad that the patient then has to go to hospital.
This just has huge potential ........and not just for the UK.....
From today's RNS about home testing: 'In due course, details of the design, implementation and timing of this novel study will be disclosed more fully.'
Well its Boris's first time for weeks chairing the Coronavirus update at 5pm.....and he would love to mention this news......
Jack - I think you should re-read the updated treatment for SNG released tonight by the NHS.... and then think about how this appalling disease progresses within the population, ie. once mild symptoms become recognised then the patient is asked to isolate at home (with no treatment) and only if the symptoms become extremely severe are they then admitted to hospital .... and then consider what a difference an SNG nebuliser would make when taken as an early stage treatment...... and the further consider what is happening in Care Homes.....
With the news about the amended treatment to now extend to home trials thus must have great possibilities for use in Care Homes
Woodetc: the opening line in the Mail on Sunday front page story says: ‘Ministers have ordered production of up to 50m new immunity tests....’ and goes on to say, ‘Last night, Health Minister Lord Bethell said ‘This is a story of how our manufacturers are stepping up to the challenge if Covid and I’m hopeful that their product will make an impact in our battle against this terrible disease’
Sounds like confirmation to me...... and the article is apparently being retweeted by the company so just awaiting the 7am RNS.....
In today’s Coronavirus update Sir Patrick made a point of emphasising that there are several clinical trials going on to try and find out which is most effective and 1 of them has recruited 7000 patients and the results should be available in due course....... just wondering?!
How do they intend to get rid of the enormous amount of PPE that’s going to used during these extremely difficult times........ hmmmm..... think I might know where all the plastics could be disposed of......
With so much at stake and the secrecy of the trials I don't think the people in charge of the trials would use a standard Synairgen nebuliser for dosing patients.....it would give too much away
With the amount of research I and many others do (which does include some excellent comments on here) and with all the ducks seemingly being lined up (Chinese recommendation to use Interferon, Canadian doctors screaming that it should be used, Italian specialist seemingly recommending its use, etc, etc) it is very easy to forget some of the initial comments that have been written by official sources .....such as the University Hospital Southampton which posted this on their website on 18th March: 'Positive initial results from the 100 patient pilot phase could see the trial expanded to more hospitals, with Synairgen increasing production of the drug in parallel.'
We know that the testing IS now being tested in other hospitals....so, by inference, the initial trials must have been positive. Shares have an unfortunate habit of playing on your mind and I woke up this morning with a positive RNS collaboration agreement with AZN in my head......not ramping....just a gut feeling
This is a link to an interview by Exec. Chairman Martin French last year:
https://www.proactiveinvestors.co.uk/companies/stocktube/13385/mining-sector-urged-to-become-less-risk-averse-13385.html
....and this was my post in June 2019: 'Excellent interview....Chesterfield has an incredibly experienced Board for such a small Company. Looking for further copper prospects in Cyprus which historiically supported significant copper mining projects but which ceased 40 years ago after Turkish invasion. Martin French, Executive Chairman, has put £200,000 of his own money in and is very conscious of share dilution. £1.5m in the bank which will be enough for any immediate exploration costs and which will produce significant news flow over the next few months. Possible interest from partner (possibly Far Eastern) and possibility of near term cash flow (possibly from tailings from previous mining - that's my thought). Very low market cap and very few shares in circulation. Very interesting.........'
And now it seems we have Gold as well! There may well be another capital raise but I'm happy to NED Peter Damouni on our side.......from website 'Mr. Damouni has over 18 years of experience in investment banking and capital markets, with expertise in mining and oil and gas. Throughout his career, Mr. Damouni has worked on and led equity and debt financings valued over $5 billion. He has comprehensive experience in equity financing, restructuring, corporate valuations and advisory assignments.'
Judging a trade (especially a large one) by comparing the price at the 'time' of the trade is open to uncertainty since the declaration of trades can be delayed....sometimes for 1 or 2 days......to try and confuse investors (especially PI's!). Unless you are adept at using an accurate L2 system then it is impossible to say whether trades (especially large ones) are buys or sells. The better rule to stick to is 'Follow the money'......generally, if there are large trades going through then its a good thing since either someone is prepared to either Buy or Sell to somebody else who is prepared to Buy. This obviously doesn't always apply, for example, where a share has spiked and all the large trades are a small number of experienced investors selling, with the shares being taken up by a large number of inexperienced investors buying their small trades....
