"They might even consider putting surplus funds in Vectura, which makes respiratory drugs. The shares, tipped by Midas last month at 72p, are now 84p and encouraging news is expected in the coming months, The Financial Mail on Sunday´s Midas column says."
The Tempus column in The Times likes the look of Associated British Foods, the food ingredients group and Primark owner. The paper notes sthat third-quarter sales at the "cheap-and-cheerful" clothes retailer were up by 13%, while other retailers have been hit by the recent bad weather. What's more, Primark's footprint in the European market seems to be expanding rather well. Meanwhile, retail isn't actually the best performing division in AB Foods, with the sugar business growing sales by a whopping 54%, helped by higher production in the UK and Spain and high prices. The performance of other divisions, such as agriculture and groceries were less stellar. However, while the group is expected to see pre-tax profits jump 16% to just shy of £1bn this year, the column says that the shares are approaching 15 times this year's earnings. "I might be tempted to take a few profits here, but they remain a solid long-term 'hold'," writes Martin Waller.
Yup - looks like someone bought a few at 9.35 which shows as a sell. Currently quotes 9.14 to buy, 8.65 to sell. A spread like that keeps out anyone thinking about day tradin it.
MM's have increased the spread 8.5 - 9.25 , usually this means they are wanting to deter buying. Could be a backgrounf order to fill.
9p on the nose
Snaffled 40k
Got 2 lots of 5k at 8.75 - could not buy any without NT - those 2 tiddly buys pushed it up. Still can't buy any but quotes 8.8 to sell - the old saying 'they want your shares' is actually true here.
These are going up a lot more. Had a job to get any at all.
All buys so far, looks likely to tick up again to 19 - sit back and watch the show until news comes.
Did a bit of research and this looks like a winner. Took an age to get anything over 2k of shares - always a good sign. Hoping for 100% and back to pre Nov levels.
Thanks for the heads up guys - I would have missed it as no RNS showing on my platform. In at 18p and out at 21p - vbw all.
Very quiet board - just little old moi it seems. Surprising considering the movement. Gone into auction now. I've taken profit , going back to sleep looking at RRL ...... zzzzzzz
Cracking day trades today ..... should be more upside here in days to0 come as the runour filters around.
From todays "shares in the news / shares to watch" The waste management firm could be the target of a cash rich private equity player, possibly old foe Carlyle, which is rumoured to be ready to launch a full-scale offer for the company at up to 140 pence per share, according to the Daily Mail market report.
Could move today - Daily Mail reports id 140p in the pipeline - might be worth a dip.
Cheers for the heads up this AM, had a quick in and out pre/post auction. At start had a quote for 19.95 but it wouldn't deal, then got in at 21.45 and out at 24p - may end up higher but any profit is good these days - good luck.
Asking 4.64 to buy and 4.25 sell - wide spread - they are holdng it back. No sellers though which is a good sign. Be nice to get back into the 5p's again pre news.
1 sell and 2 buys - much slower than yesterday. Still holding out for news and 6p+ .....
I know nothing about this share, I have done no research and yet having bought at 1.03 post RNS it is the only share I have that is blue today - God bless VPHA !
