The latest Investing Matters Podcast episode with multi-award-winning fund manager and international bestselling author Lee Freeman-Shor has just been released. Listen here.
I have also used ii for a few years without major complaint, though I echo that I did, once, have a problem with the site not recognising the amount I had in credit for a transaction, saying there wasn't enough when there was.
Setting up an ISA account does take a few days.
The BoD delivered a snippet of good news last week about the third washplant.
The small rise was nipped in the bud and the opportunity seized to further walk down the sp in the relentless attempt to demoralise PI's into selling their shares to the big boys.
Good to hear from you this morning gfd, some good insight from you.
Diversity may by now be a University Course but not specifically a Welsh one, it would be certainly included as part of some.
I also retired, from what I take to be the same vocation, though nowhere near the same level, nine years ago and diversity was a big issue a few years before then, at least with our man in your position.
To clarify my issue with your comments last night - it was not that you were making fun of, what I shall call, an unpopular poster but, conversely by association, making fun of those inflicted with a speech impediment.
It grated on me and, it seems, several others.
Gfd,
You have, on occasion, posted useful information or insight on this board but recently your standards have fallen below that of a man, as you claim, at the top of your profession.
Did you excuse yourself from the Diversity courses?
Adding my best wishes saxonaxe.
It's incidents like this that make people realise how vulnerable flesh and bone is to injury, mine was a bike crash vs a tree.
The other thing is the capacity of the flesh and bone to heal, stick to your rest, painkillers and rum and try not to laugh.
The memory will live on after the body has healed I can still feel my brain rattling inside my head upon impact.
I must add that no trees were harmed during the incident.
Remember to record your injuries as 'Industrial Injuries' with the DWP it will help should you develop a long term debilitating condition in the future from any of your recorded injuries.
Let's hope the dividend comes in before you need to go back to work.
I've held shares in what was Standard Life since 1987 and it has provided some good dividends that would pay for an annual holiday. It is very disappointing to have witnessed the mess made of that company, for whatever the reasons.
Now with another (stupid, unnecessary and expensive) name change under our belt I will wait too see if it proves to be of any value. I hope it does although my holding is now vastly reduced to the amount of shares that I received free with my endowment mortgage in 1987.
On the subject of Equinity: that was another groan as it is another 'nose in the trough' financial service, as commented below in this thread. (I hold a few BT shares with them.) No wonder abdn have bought shares in them.
Back scratches all round?
Gotham, I like the explanation in your 11.27 post.
The funding bank may have, initially, been short sighted in not envisaging that the platform's extent would become so widespread but have since woken up to the international potential and want a bigger slice of the global pizza.
As you say this has required revisiting of contracts and regulations, delaying the IM process.
Although the delay is annoying it does show the bank's realisation of the potential awaiting to be unleashed.
Mac, having thought a bit more about Semenovsky, whatever may have happened to it, mothballed or announced to be sold when the big RNS lands.
The gold recovery process at Semenovsky relies upon cyanide based chemicals the use of which would mean that EUA could not hold its prestigious ESG status.
mac, in this report (also in others I've read) there is mention of PGM ores at deep levels. I don't think EUA would be interested in mining these deep levels but NN (or any other deep miner) could take these on, especially with the problems that NN have experienced with their current Norilsk mines.
These would be of interest to their Monchegorsk Development Agency and provide work for the people of the area during the winter months when the surface is frozen, both with the mining and the smelting.
