Sav, last post on this front. Stop being dramatic, more people died under your beloved Labour party in the Blair days. You know, those innocent Iraqi civilians? Or do you forget about that? The Tories done what they done, amidst a situation (Covid) they completely mismanaged. Thing is, Labour would have done the same (going from their rhetoric at the time) and actually imposed harsher measures, encroaching on both individual liberty and the free market. I am a classical liberal/libertarian so i wouldn't vote for any of these Socialist/Keynesian Governments.
Well that was completely useless wasn't it. Surely you understand the size of the state is derived from their influence on the private individual. They spend more, resulting in a bigger state as such. The thing I would say to put it simply is this: If you believe the Government is as incompetent as it is, why would you want more of those people operating those positions. Surely you would rather less power in the hands of the politicians and more power in the hands of private citizens. That is all i'm saying. It wasn't a loaded question at all, its quite a simple one.
Savage, I agree with you that this country is a complete mess. My question to you is, how is a bigger Government going to solve this. Surely you understand that a bigger state is a bigger drain on resources and therefore the allocation of those resources are far less efficient, resulting in declining living standards. I for one am in favor of a small state, individual liberties and law and order. The Tories trampled all over the civil liberties in 2020 when they locked everyone in their home and told everyone how they should live with the threat of fines if not followed. Labour would have done the exact same thing, and maybe spent more. (Who knows i'm guessing). This two party system is an absolute disgrace and the only way out is a credible 3rd party making significant gains. Unfortunately, people do not vote for freedom, they vote for free stuff.
I remember buying this share at about £8 a share, ended up selling about £3. Took a big L. Never listen to a gym bro on stock picks. GLA.
MV - Energy companies are in for a battering too. I hold TLW and that concerns me. The over taxed, over regulated economy will not be able to compete with our neighbors, especially emerging markets and those who liberalize their economies. I think no matter what party we get, the seeds are sown and the interventionist Gov will take us to the cleaners.
Whats the common consensus? I'm thinking it will go RED. However, I am interested to see how the "Red Wall" vote. I can see a big swing to Reform similar to what happened when they went Tory for the Brexit vote. A hung parliament would be ideal. Its going to be a long run up to the election, seeing Kier and Rishi on my TV everyday is going to be painful.
