PRESS: Future searches for new CEO as Byng-Thorne to leave - Sky News

Mon, 19th Sep 2022 21:50

(Alliance News) - Future PLC Chief Executive Officer Zillah Byng-Thorne intends to step down in 2023, Sky News reported on Monday.

CEO Zillah Byng-Thorne informed Future Chair Richard Huntingford that she plans to retire from her role at the Bath-based media company in the next 18 months.

Media industry insiders expect that Byng-Thorne will step down in the second half of 2023, Sky News reported.

A formal search process for a new CEO still needs to be initiated by Chair Huntingford.

Zillah Byng-Thorne has been chief executive of Future since April 2014. She was originally appointed as finance chief in 2013 when Future had a market capitalisation of just GBP30 million.

On Friday, Future shares closed 2.7% lower at 1,649.00 pence, giving it a market capitalisation of just under GBP2 billion.
