LONDON (Alliance News) - Irish bank AIB Group PLC said on Wednesday it has appointed Chief Operating Officer & Deputy Chief Executive Tomas O'Midheach to the board as executive director with immediate effect.
O'Midheach has been deputy CEO for five months since October 2018, and COO for three years since 2016.
O'Midheach has been part of AIB for 13 years since 2006, and prior to joining was part of Citibank, the consumer division of Citigroup Inc for 11 years from 1995 to 2006, leaving as chief financial officer of the Ireland branch.
"I am delighted to welcome Tomas to the board as an executive director following his appointment as deputy CEO in October 2018. Tomas' role as chief operating officer and his substantial experience and knowledge of AIB Group will complement and enhance the skills of our board," said Chair Richard Pym.
Shares in AIB Group were down 1.5% at EUR4.00 on Wednesday.
