(Alliance News) - Renewables Infrastructure Group Ltd has agreed to buy a company which has the rights to build a wind farm in Scotland, it said on Tuesday.
TRIG is buying Blary Hill Energy Ltd. Blary Hill has been awarded rights to build a 35 megawatt wind farm on the Kintyre peninsula in the west of Scotland.
The energy investor said the project will consist of 14 N90 turbines built by Hamburg-based firm Nordex SE. Construction will start in the first quarter of 2020, and is expected to begin operating in two years' time.
TRIG will generate revenue from the wind farm by selling power into the wholesale market. It will make up around 2.5% of the firm's overall portfolio.
TRIG has over 70 investments in wind, solar, and battery storage projects, with an overall generating capacity of 1,664 megawatts.
Shares were 0.1% lower on Tuesday morning in London at a price of 135.92 pence each.
