Wireless technology group Toumaz said it expects to commercialise its digital plaster, to be used by hospitals to monitor patients' bodies, in 2011 after continuing trials of the technology.Trials of the 'Sensium' digital plaster system began at St. Mary's hospital in the final quarter of 2009. The company is now in the third stage of a three-phase trial, expected to be completed in 2010. Regulatory filing for the US and Europe should be filed in the fourth quarter of this year, the company said.Toumaz posted pre-tax losses of £4.4m for the year to December 31, up from £2.2m the previous year, but saw revenues, most of which are in the form of development income from its biggest customers, rise to £3.96m from £2.75m.'We are confident that our last metre connectivity technology can be developed for a number of markets and sectors, as it enables personalised data to be integrated into large scale systems and linked into cloud computing,' said chief executive Chris Toumazou.
