LONDON (Alliance News) - Tekcapital PLC Monday said its patent for its 'Crackle-baked' process has been successful, following a notice of allowance from the US Patent and Trademark office.
The 'Crackle-baked' process gives baked products the attributes of fried products, in terms of taste and texture, with approximately 60% less fat content.
Tekcapital acquired the worldwide licence for this process in January, and said the US patent will protect the intellectual property surrounding the process until 2030.
"The receipt of the Notice of Allowance advances the potential commercialisation of Crackle-baked. We are actively engaged to secure an out-license partner and will update the market in due course," said Executive Chairman Clifford Gross in a statement.
Shares in Tekcapital were up 4.3% at 52.66 pence Monday morning.
