Premier Foods Non-Exec Shinji Honda Leaves, Yuichiro Kogo Replaces

Fri, 19th Feb 2021 10:01

(Alliance News) - Premier Foods PLC on Friday said Non-Executive Director Shinji Honda intends to stand down as a director on March 25.

The FTSE 250-listed food manufacturer said the move follows Honda's decision to retire from Nissin Foods Holdings Co Ltd. Honda has served on the board since March 2018 pursuant to the terms of the relationship agreement between Premier Foods and Nissin.

Following Honda's retirement, Premier Foods said Yuichiro Kogo will be appointed as a non-executive director and as Nissin's representative director.

Kogo is head of Business Development, responsible for devising Nissin's mergers & acquisitions strategy, as well as originating and executing business alliance and investment transactions. Prior to joining Nissin in 2016, he spent nine years in the Investment Banking Division of Goldman Sachs Japan Co Ltd.

"I would like to take this opportunity to thank Honda for his significant contribution to both the Board and the relationship between Premier Foods and Nissin, which has helped the continued success of our partnership and ongoing strong performance of Premier Foods," said Premier Foods Chair Colin Day.

"I am pleased to welcome Kogo to the board, having met with him on a number of occasions since my appointment, and I look forward to working with him in the future," added Day.

Premier Foods shares were trading 1.0% higher in London on Friday at 91.60 pence each.
