LONDON, April 13 (Reuters) - British and Dutch wholesale gas prices edged down on Thursday morning on healthy supply.
The British weekend price was down 2.00 pence at 98.00 pence per therm by 0952 GMT, while the Dutch May price eased by 0.90 euro to 42.00 euros per megawatt hour (MWh), according to Refinitiv Eikon data.
The Dutch contract for June fell by 1.70 euros to 42.45 euros/MWh.
"The outlook for today is sideways to bearish with comfortable fundamentals expected to weigh again on the EU gas prompt," said analysts at Engie EnergyScan.
"A colder revision in temperature forecasts for the coming days could nevertheless provide some limited support," they added.
Flows through the Langeled pipeline to Britain have risen to 63 million cubic metres (mcm) a day from 45 mcm/d yesterday, while Norwegian flows to the Continent are stable, Refinitiv Eikon data showed.
Temperatures in the UK and north-west Europe are forecast below normal until the end of this week, before turning milder next week. But the latest forecast for Britain shows less mild weather than previously expected.
Strong wind speeds have been curbing gas-for-power demand in Britain over the last few days. These should ease slightly from today but remain above normal.
French strikes continues to keep French liquefied natural gas (LNG) send-out reduced. A force majeure has been issued at the Dunkirk LNG terminal for today, suggesting capacity will be reduced to 70 gigawatt hours per day.
In the European carbon market, the benchmark contract fell by 2.02 euros to 93.90 euros a tonne.
