(Alliance News) - John Laing Group PLC on Thursday confirmed it is in talks with a private equity firm interested in buying the FTSE 250-listed infrastructure investor.
John Laing said it is in talks with KKR & Co Inc, a New York-based firm with stakes in real estate, infrastructure and energy firms.
"There can be no certainty that any firm offer for the company will be made nor as to the terms on which any firm offer might be made," John Laing added.
Shares in the company jumped 13% to 358.40 pence each in London on Thursday afternoon, valuing it at GBP1.77 billion.
