Mon, 17th Apr 2023 12:19

(Alliance News) - Jardine Matheson Holdings Ltd announced on Monday that Janine Feng will join its board as an independent non-executive director with effect from May 5.

Feng is a managing director at private equity firm Carlyle Group Inc and is focused on Asian buyout opportunities in the financial services, consumer products and healthcare sectors.

Since joining Carlyle in 1998, she has been part of various deals, including Carlyle Asia Partners' investments in companies such as China Pacific Insurance and Kaiyuan Hotel Group.

Prior to joining Carlyle, Feng was a financial analyst and later a senior associate at Credit Suisse First Boston's investment banking group in New York, where she focused on structured finance and project finance transactions. She has also worked as a management consultant at McKinsey & Co Inc.

Jardine Matheson said: "The board believes independent non-executive directors with a broad and diverse range of backgrounds are a valuable source of external perspectives and are a key element of good governance and decision-making."

The company added that it "will benefit from the expertise and experience that Feng will bring."
