The FTSE Small Cap index edges 0.2 percent lower in early deals, lagging a0.1 percent gain on the FTSE 100, while the FTSE 250 is 0.3percent lower. McBride drops 2.6 percent after the household and personal careproducts firm says in an update it is seeing weaker trade in Europe and guidesto a revenue decline in the first-half of 6 percent, in line with expectations. "Significant new launch activity is due in Q3, but in the short term themismatch of volume curtailed versus new launches results in a 2013 EBIT forecastreduction of 10 percent, although the business momentum should be much better inthe second-half 2013 and into 2014," Investec says in a note, cutting its targetprice to 141 pence, but keeping its "buy" rating. Horizonte Minerals gains 6.2 percent after announcing positiveresults from the on-going resource drilling programme and metallurgical testingat its 100 percent owned Araguaia Nickel Project in Brazil. "These results are very much as expected and confirm that higher grade areasexist which can be mined during the earlier years of the project. Once theprogramme is complete, a new resource will be calculated and used as the basisfor a pre-feasibility study," FinnCap says in a note.
