LONDON (Alliance News) - Carpetright PLC on Tuesday said Bob Ivell is to become its new non-executive chairman after Lord Harris retires from the board at the end of the month.
The carpet and floor coverings retailer said Ivell is currently Non-Executive Chairman of pub company Mitchells & Butlers PLC and a director on the board of AGA Rangemaster Group PLC and Britvic PLC.
"I am delighted we have found a very able and experienced chairman who brings tremendous skills and experience from his previous executive and non-executive roles. After 57 years in the carpet business, it is time for me to focus on my other interests and I retire from the board confident that I leave behind a strong leadership team," said outgoing Chairman Lord Harris.
Carpetright also said it would now publish its first half results on December 15 rather than December 9, as had been previously announced.
Carpetright shares were up 1.8% on Tuesday morning to 314.75 pence.
