SMALL-CAP WINNERS & LOSERS: Circassia revenue up; Renold wins new deal

(Alliance News) - The following stocks are the leading risers and fallers among London Main Market small-caps on Tuesday.

SMALL-CAP - WINNERS

Circassia Group PLC, up 12% at 33.60 pence, 12-month range 19.86p-37.90p. The biopharmaceutical company said its revenue was up 16% to GBP12.1 million in the six months to the end of June and up 10% on the second half of 2020, as more patients were able to visit its physician. Whilst Clinical revenue has yet to return fully to pre-Covid levels, sales in the first half of 2021 were 84% of underlying sales in the first half of 2019. "Management continues to implement the new business model to generate top line growth and to drive further benefit from the significantly reduced cost base in the second half," said Executive Chair Ian Johnson.

Renold PLC, up 7.9% at 24.29 pence, 12-month range 8.1p-29.9p. The supplier of industrial chains and power transmission products said its subsidiary Renold Couplings secured a contract for the supply of flexible couplings for the second batch of the Royal Navy's Type 26 future frigate. The contract is worth GBP11 million over the next eight years.

EnQuest PLC, up 3.3% at 21.75 pence, 12-month range 8.67p-25.20p. Barclays raises the petroleum company to Overweight from Equal Weight.

City of London Investment Group PLC, up 2.1% at 539.20p, 12-month range 376p-560p. The investment company said funds under management were USD11.4 billion at June 30. This compares with USD5.5 billion a year before. The company said it estimates that the unaudited profit before amortisation of intangibles, exceptional merger costs and taxation will be GBP27.2 million, more than doubled from GBP10.7 million posted the year ago.
