Beard increases Huntsworth stake

Wed, 30th Dec 2009 14:32

Non-executive director Eugene Beard has added to his holding in marketing communications firm Huntsworth Group. He invested £31,200 in 50,000 Huntsworth shares. This takes his stake to 625,000 shares. Beard invested nearly £24,000 in June, when he added 61,376 shares to his shareholding.Beard is a former director of multinational marketing services company Interpublic Group. He is also a former director of Mattel Inc. He joined the Huntsworth board in February 2004. Huntsworth has rationalised its 26 brands into four key brands - Citigate, Grayling, Huntsworth Health and Red - at a cost of between £8m and £10m. Earnings in 2009 are expected to be in line with expectations. Profits of around £24m are forecast. Visibility is good for 2010 and 70% of expected revenues should be committed by the end of January. Earlier this month, Huntsworth paid an initial $33.6m (£20.4m) for Dutko Worldwide, the largest US public policy management group. Dutko will be consolidated into the Grayling brand and provide the group with a strong US presence. Huntsworth has extended its bank facility until September 2012.
