Avacta Group PLC - Wetherby, England-based life sciences company developing oncology drugs and diagnostics - Hires Simon Bennett as chief business officer of Therapeutics division. Says Bennett has over 26 years of commercial experience in the biopharma industry and has "worked with" various large and mid-sized companies like Bristol-Myers Squibb Co and Menarini Group.

Chief Executive Officer Alastair Smith says: "As chief business officer, Simon will work closely with the senior management team and lead commercial strategy and business development activities at this exciting period in the company's development as compelling clinical data emerges from the AVA6000 Phase 1 trial."

Current stock price: 116.26 pence, up 2.0% in London early Tuesday
