EXECUTIVE CHANGES: Aston Martin Refreshes Board; nmcn Hires CEO

(Alliance News) - The following is a round-up of London-listed company director and manager changes announced on Thursday and not separately reported by Alliance News:

Aston Martin Lagonda Global Holdings PLC - Warwickshire-based luxury car maker - Hires Anne Stevens, Robin Freestone, Richard Parry-Jones and Antony Sheriff as independent non-executive directors. It also appoints Stephan Unger as the representative non-executive director of shareholder Mercedes-Benz AG. Peter Espenhahn and Matthew Carrington will step down at the close of the annual general meeting, which last year was held in June, while Bill Tame will step down immediately. Stevens worked at Ford Motor Co and also at UK engineering firm GKN, serving as interim chief executive officer during its hostile takeover by Melrose Industries PLC. She is current a non-executive director for miner Anglo American PLC. Freestone was chief financial officer of publisher Pearson PLC for nine years. He currently is chair of comparison website Moneysupermarket.com Group PLC and a non-executive director of medical products firm Smith & Nephew PLC. Parry-Jones also was with Ford Motor, responsible for product development worldwide, and also on the board of GKN, which had an automotive division. He currently is chair of auto dealer Marshall Motor Holdings PLC. Sheriff currently is executive chair & CEO of Princess Yachts Ltd and had been CEO of McLaren for 10 years until 2003. At Mercedes owner Daimler AG, Ungar is a member of the board of management, responsible for Finance & Controlling and Risk Management of Daimler Mobility. "This is a very important time for the company as we start to execute our plans to enable Aston Martin to become one of the pre-eminent luxury car brands in the world, delivering value for our customers, staff, partners and shareholders alike," says Executive Chair Lawrence Stroll.

nmcn PLC - Nottinghamshire-based engineering and construction - Hires Lee Marks as CEO, joining from NB Bailey Ltd, an engineering and services firm where Marks has been commercial director since 2013. Says Marks will join during the first half of 2021, with the date to be announced. John Homer stepped down as CEO and Chair Robert Moyle took over as acting CEO back in September. The company later said that, after a review of major contracts, it expected to report an annual pretax loss of between GBP13.5 million and GBP15.0 million for 2020, swinging from a GBP7.4 million profit. In October, nmcn hired Alan Foster from National Grid PLC to be chief financial officer. "Following the announcement of the board changes and the subsequent internal review undertaken, a number of issues have come to light which are concerning and are being addressed," Acting Chair Ian Elliott commented at the time.

GB Group PLC - Chester, England-based identity management, location intelligence and fraud prevention - Hires David Ward as CFO and board member, starting May 17. Ward replaces Dave Wilson, who retires as CFO and chief operating officer at the end of June after 12 years. Ward joins from FTSE 100 software firm Aveva Group PLC, where he is company secretary and finance director. He was CFO of Aveva prior to its merger with the software business of France's Schneider Electric SE in 2018.

Abcam PLC - Cambridge, England-based life science research tools - Hires Bessie Lee and Mark Capone as non-executive directors, effective immediately. Lee is CEO of Withinlink, a China-based venture capital firm focused on marketing technology that she founded in 2015. Prior to that, Lee was with FTSE 100 ad agency WPP PLC in China for almost 30 years. Capone is a life sciences executive, having been CEO of Myriad Genetics Inc and also working at Eli Lilly & Co.

Getech Group PLC - Leeds-based geoscience and geospatial products firm - Hires Richard Bennett as non-executive director and chair designate, effective immediately. After a handover period, Bennett will replace Stuart Paton as chair, and Paton will leave the board. Bennett worked for General Electric Co in Asia and founded J2Global Inc, a Nasdaq-listed internet telecom firm with a USD4.85 billion market capitalisation.

Crimson Tide PLC - Tunbridge Wells, Kent-based mobile software firm - Hires Jacqueline Daniell as independent non-executive director. Daniell is CEO of Wey Education PLC, an AIM-listed online education provider.

SIG PLC - London-based supplier of insulation, roofing, commercial interiors and specialist construction products - Hires Shatish Dasani as non-executive director, starting on Monday next week, replacing Ian Duncan. Dasani was CFO of masonry products maker Forterra PLC and of TT Electronics PLC. He is currently non-executive director of engineering services firm Renew Holdings PLC and also was appointed this week as a non-executive director of tool-hire firm Speedy Hire PLC, starting also on Monday.

GCP Student Living PLC - real estate investment trust investing in student accommodation in the UK - Hires Russell Chambers as independent non-executive director, starting on Monday. Chambers is an investment banker who was CEO for Credit Suisse Group AG in the UK and Ireland. He currently is senior advisor with both Bain Capital and Teneo and a founder shareholder in the Five Guys European restaurant business.

Andrews Sykes Group PLC - Wolverhampton-based heating and cooling rental company - Company's long-serving managing director, Paul Wood, dies after a short illness. Last week, Andrews Sykes had appointed Carl Webb, the current MD of its UK businesses, as group interim MD, saying Wood was taking a leave of absence due to ill health.
