Direct Line Share Price (DLG)

I thik it's beginning to dawn on a few people that the company's profitability is heading back to normal which of course it should be as they finish paying out for the problems of a couple of years ago.

TT - Nothing I can see to propel the share price higher this morning - I think maybe funds are buying in though pre DLG Capital Markets day on the 110h July in anticipation of some positive announcements -

3%+ increase this morning. Has something good happened?

Despite having various forms of insurance cover with DLG since the mid 1980s when it was established by P Wood, I was surprised to find the Group declined to quote for my requested car insurance renewal.

I appreciate its only anecdotal evidence but having quizzed a number of friends, they variously indicated a similar response was obtained not only for car cover but in some cases, for home/contents cover as well.

As we are all either already or close to retirement, this would appear the only common 'link' if there is one. We all tend to have long records of no claims in either types of cover and have tended towards loyalty rather than routinely switching insurance company at every renewal.

Clearly, DLG appear ( on this albeit limited sample) to be going down a different road, so to speak.
