Of course this could to under £1, that's only 15p away, not long ago it was £1.40 odd that's 25p away.
The only dreamers on here are those that think they have a crystal ball but can't see further than the end of their nose.
You only have to open those eyes to see what's coming this winter so this dreamer is happy to say that if he had to bet he would say the market is in for a big correction rather than a big increase.
You can post all the substance you want mate but please make sure it makes sense & is accurate otherwise people may think you don't know what the f*** you are on about.
Meshtrader, some people seem to be very passionate about this share, maybe because they have worked in the industry or just because they feel telecoms is the thing of the future
But if i can ask you a serious question, do you think this is a good share to invest in, taking into account the share price has not shown any growth over the last 5 years, not even inline with inflation, and the dividend is only really good if you can buy at the bottom price and not even very reliable
personally i just think it's ok as an addition to a portfolio if you can get in at a low price
cheers

Check my recent posts. There are no silver bullets.
If this starts going below £1.10 i think Emirates Telecom might want answers......
I'm left wondering what drove the uptrend since May? Anyway we are knocked back now. Obvious risk people have to start giving up their mobile phone contracts. I'm still guessing 110 but that's as helpful as a spin on tombola. My long term fear remains at 90p. That way even with the dividend and inflation I can never break even.

In a digital age people giving up their own true weapon in living a productive life? Not even during the 2008 depression (iphone had just been launched! So apps echo system was still in its infancy) did people ditch their phones or contracts. Also, don't forget the role of big numbers, i.e. when you pay 500 toward energy, or counsel tax north of 150/month, petrol north of 400/month, a mobile contract of 70-90 wont deter anybody. Its the individuals's space of solace to find peace and to communicate, play, listen to music or enjoy other entertainments. Don't forget peoples banking and invoices are now linked to their mobiles, without which one is truly ..cked. Have you tried flying recently? How do you checkin or access your boarding pass? How do people pay over the counter? The list is massive and I can go on and on. Hope you get the picture.
Besides, don't confuse vod with other uk exclusive firms. Vod is well hedged in that its uk revenue makes up ever smaller portions of its total revenue. Still people wont be dropping their contracts, and those (against all odds) deciding to ditch their contracts are not the kind of customers that these companies are betting on. Either people see the value in items and services they receive or they dont.
My best example to you is american express. You think their customers will be ditching the super expensive charge cards? Think again!
The shares are trading at 2x EBIDTA.
I suspect there is a tier of people who use the mobile phone for everything and another who just chat and waste time on social media.
Anyway, the fact remains that price competition squeezes margins.
Brokers till have daft targets. Where do they think improvements leading to 20% or more sp uplift will come from?
Wonder what would happen if Emirates Telecom bid for the whole of Vodafone?
Wayzgoose. I bought (topped up) today at 115.7as well. More fool us perhaps, but lets hope for 116 + next week? Way under priced I think. 1.19 for me next Friday please.
Dan, will it go up or will it go down ?, as long as your buying in below your average then you should gain from it anyway, that's the way i see it anyway
some serious stuff here today ?
something i heard sometime ago pretty much sums it up i think, which is
There are two types of investors here, those who don't know, and those who don't know they don't know
or else we could all get very rich, but i always like to hear others opinions and general advice
good luck Amigo
Fleccy, it did go under a £1 in the panicdemic, 92.78p at one point.
Would need a catalyst to enduce that sort of decline. Could happen if they have a hard time refinancing the Sept bond. I'm sure it will go fine but the coupon rate will be interesting.
If they just want to pay it off, the FX rate has added €400m to the bill.
"Fleccy, it did go under a £1 in the panicdemic, 92.78p at one point."
Ok instead of looking at the Google chart, I looked through the figures and produced my own chart. I missed the dip below £1 due to averaging on the published Google chart, You're correct, it did dip below £1 on the 16th and 17th March 2020, closing at 98.02p on the 16th, and hitting a low of 92.76p on the 17th, but closing at 107.72p on the 17th. I'd suggest that £1 is a huge resstance level, and unlikely to be breached again. If anything the fact that the Bears only managed to briefly dip the stock below £1 suggests even a sustained effort to force it down below that level would be unsuccessful.
The Figures:
Date............Open...High..Low.....Close
13/03/2020 108.22 114.00 104.64 105.06

17/03/2020 102.22 109.02 92.760 107.72

I demand a re-count !
Fred confirm his prediction was 169.69, so that makes Roofer thw inner again.
Must be a fix LOL, when posters set up a competition and then win it straight away.
So what do the stars say for this Friday ... my guess is 112.08 - sorry to be so pessimistic this week.
Give it time and it'll be back up again - just I like I say to Mrs C
Cheers - C

Well if your in Rob so am i....with a 122 thanks....
Hi soton, last week was pretty poor, so wishful thinking perhaps that we will have a better week
lloyds/lgen/aviva/dlg/mng are all paying out dividends with me next week, so will be holding them in account for a while, until i decide when and which of my current shares will get it, vod is also on that list depending on price
good luck all
