S%&t storm coming, many reservoirs across UK are contaminated by floods during Ciara hurricane.
From the start of 2015 to mid-2017 the SP regularly hit around the £10 mark. Given that the divi was lower then and this year we will have a 3% rise on the last divi, with an inflation-linked rise for four years after that, I think the SP still has quite some way to go. Today's high was £10.27 and obviously quite a few will have sold out, but I'm going nowhere (and I'm averaging 756p).
Hope you got back in in time. GLA
10 quid's a decent profit for me. Pretty sure I'll be able to buy back in cheaper.
Well we got there a little quicker than I thought. Steady buying. Rumoured rate cut may have something to do with it. Where to now? Thoughts anyone? GLA
since the new regime took over government. I would think £10 is reachable in the near future. GLA
Think you almost got it right. The market has awoken today to the political joke it elected and the laugh is on investors. The good thing about electing a political clown is there are only so many fridges he can hide in or at least hide his policies. The Bojo relief rally has hit the dirt today. I think I read about a 12% cut in prices for UU. and the like. Probably manageable while they can continue to bleat on about the need for investment.
D'oh - sold too early. Don't usually get a late surge like that. Still got one last tranche to ride though.
we were one of the three companies to be fast tracked I presume the previous acceptance of our submission, having been accepted, leaves us as we were with dividend policy intact. GLA
Needed to lock in some profits. Will buy back when the BOJO euphoria is over.
Cereus there is nothing worng with socialism with a heart or Conservatism with a heart. When you get a Marxist shown a kid lying on a hospital floor and the Marxist puts the phone in his pocket then come back to me. Bojo will eaither have to start borrowing your money to pay for his absurd policies or else forget about them in his usual rather be found dead in a ditch style. You reap what you sow at any rate and let us see what this buffoon actually brings to the table.
Any truth in that you are selling your shares to give to the Marxist cause to promote the downfall of this country.? Or is it just a rumour being spread because deep down are you really a capitalist ? Marxism is great if you have the wealth of Corbyn ! How much has he given to the homeless this Christmas and how much has he given to the food banks , out of his huge wealth.
Fallingknife, yes correct, we got Boris Johnson as Prime Minister. Could have been much worse though, could have had a terrorist loving, Jew hating, marxist nutcase instead. Get over it and back this wonderful country of ours, we're moving forward.
Regarding that lovely jump in share price this morning, let's hope it can stay around this level.
Now we have the fridge magnet BJ with no happy ending. A circus clown with the morals of a polecat who will tell any lie as long as it is a big one. Sure the market rose today as a relief rally but when ole Bojo rolls out of bed with Trump this morning his first task will be to remember what lies he told during his err campaign if you can call it that and of course quickly forget them.
Has returned. Nationalisation threat removed. Forward planning now clear. One third of the world population live in the Commonwealth so great potential future unrestricted trade there. Enjoy your Xmas everyone,
We can all give a sigh of relief , I must admit I nearly sold my shares yesterday , but just hoped sanity would prevail , and it did.
Cereus, the majority of decent people are scared witless of the jew hater getting into Downing street. I cannot understand how anybody could vote for him and all that he stands for. Morality does not figure in the minds of corbyn's supporters.
Hopefully by tomorrow morning the nightmare thoughts will have been forgotten and we will have a stable government under Boris Johnson.
With regard to the share price here, the likelihood is that this will be a good base from which UU will go forward to better things. No company can have solid investrment plans for the future with the threat of the "sword of damocles" in the form of a "venezuelan type government" hanging over them. Hopefully by tomorrow corbyn/mcdonell will be finished and a new and decent Labour party will begin the fight back against the extremists. All democracies need an effective and decent opposition that will work for the country, not just for the rabid marxist nutters.
I am terrified with the possibility of Marxism taking over our Country . Our shares will be worthless tomorrow if this happens ! They seem to forget they were ordinary not rich people who bought the utilities , these people are the backbone of this Nation . We live in Loony times !
Thanks Mickey, holding shares for the time being but will ring Hargreaves Landsdowne tomorrow to check commission rates. Equiniti was changing 1.5% on a transaction of around 50,000.
Hi Jo27, from personal experience Hargreaves Lansdown and Interactive Investor are pretty good. These shares would be badly affected in the event of the trot getting into Downing Street, but I think the chances are pretty slim. don't want to wake up on Friday and be proven wrong !!! I'm holding.
Mickey, can’t decide whether to sell, very nervous about GE result. Please can you advise which is the best broker if I decide to sell. Thanks
Scary times ahead though. If Boris wins, the price will rise... but if the marxists win how low can it go ???
Goldman Sachs today reaffirms its neutral investment rating on United Utilities Group PLC (LON:UU.) and raised its price target to 868p (from 815p).
Ernie Wise after the event it is called.
Made loads buying and selling this over the years. Great dividends and a nice little earner.
Grump, How much do you think has been paid to our little trot over the years from odious bodies like the PLO etc, plus his fees from Iranian radio/tv stations and also for being a mouthpiece for Venezuela and all the other bankrupt socialist countries. Try reading this:
https://www.businessinsider.com/jeremy-corbyn-paid-iran-press-tv-tortured-journalist-2016-6?r=US&IR=T now it's hard to read things which are true about your hero, but the odious Marxist is a very dangerous person. There are loads of items like this about him if only you'd look. The gnome is filthy rich, and if you were him would you declare very dodgy money?
Well at least the share price has increased by 40p since my post on 23rd. Can it continue with the worries about the economic vandals of the labour party.
