Did I miss an RNS somewhere outlining the date for CGP shareholders to vote on the merger deal??
I noted that Darryl mentioned the end of Q4 2022 target for the deal to complete. That would be pretty impressive if they met that target. I guess the lawyers and usual paperwork stuff needs putting together along with prospectus and delisting timelines etc etc. But in theory, if the scheme is to be signed off before year end, they really need to get a jog on and set that date. Unless of course someone at BHP towers put a call in and said... hold your horse... we might have a better idea!
Interesting to note that BHP and NCM were very vocal when we did a royalty deal of 1% with Franco.... real toys out of the pram stuff. But when we effectively hand over 20% of SOLG shares to CGP, dilute the back @rse out of them both, stitch them up in terms of their games.... they are quiet as a mouse lol! The silence is deafening... but there is lotta steam coming out of those BHP towers!!
CGP / SOLG need to get a jog on and get that CGP shareholder vote meeting sorted pronto.
CGP will not care whether it is Solg or BHP or etc - they just want the maximum deal for themselves -this will get the ball rolling to flush out any other bidders for their company - hence as mentioned by others, we need to get this across the line asap
Agreed H
I think they will expedite things here wherever possible. Several times this week Darryl used the term “shortly” as opposed to his usual “in due course” when referring to both the proposed merger and funding
DBW, what time does tsx open?,is it 2pm?,maybe two bits of news lol!!,one on tv and one on here
Trading hours start 2.30 BST I believe
Someone beat me to reporting Slug.
Well done that person or persons.
“On the contrary DBW its me and a few others that have been constantly correct.”
Ok according to your warped logic if Truss said she’d still be in office in 10 years you could say she’s been constantly right so far ….. yet any sane person knows that not to be the case .
If this gets sold the everyone else here who said this was not being taken to production by Solgold will have been proven 100% right ….. so that will make you 100% wrong … yes ??
Or will you still be right ?…. I suspect you will
Oh dear, DBW you are really twisting things.
I have been 100% right up to now and you have been 100% wrong up to now over many years.
I have always said that we may get a bid but not until things change.
Things are changing now, so don't pretend this has never been my position.
So now I am saying no hostile bid for Solgold as the book is more diverse.
Unlikely to be an agreed bid for Solgold because no one will pay full value.
However, because we acquired 100% ENSA we can now raise financing, or we can separate ENSA and possibly sell it off.
I DBW have followed the facts you have just made guesses. That's why I am consistently right, and you are wrong.
Don't pretend anything else as you have many times said we will be sold and not understood the reasons why you are wrong.
I have said since day one this will be sold and Solgold won’t take it to production. Since day one you have said the opposite and everyone here knows it …… when it is sold you will change in an instant to being 100% wrong
Q, with the greatest respect, you have not always said there may be a bid. Many of us have memories which exceed the capacity of the average goldfish and will recall that your position only began to shift about six to nine months ago.
Anyway, putting that to one side, I agree with you about the chances of a hostile bid, but have never understood your comments about an agreed deal - specifically because you've never been able to define "full value". It will be an agreed deal - whatever "it" is, and it will sail through the process of winning shareholder support.
I’m not bothered who’s wrong or right as long as I get 100p for each of my shares! ;) atb whatever your stance
Add sorry to bring the bickering back to this board I’ll stop now. But myself and many others have suffered years of arrogance and abuse for suggesting this would be sold. Now rather than accept it could be wrong it tries to move the goalposts.
Definitely on the spectrum ….
Agree that Quady hasn't said anything of the sort.
Quady - you've maintained the company strapline throughout and talked about financing production. Better to have the courage to admit that and say things changed.
After all, you'll have been right for 99% of the time and ultimately wrong whereas those who have called a bid at various junctures over the years will have been largely wrong but ultimately correct.
I appreciate why it matters... because it has been debated so intensely, but we've got to let it go at some stage.
The Quady's not for turning !!
This is comedy gold !

It seems that not only have many people called you out this afternoon but MANY people ticked up their posts.
Have a great weekend everybody, everybody but "U Turn Queasy".
Quady, the Kwasi Kwateng of the SOLG board !
Addicknt, yes I have always said that production is the most likely outcome and unlike others have stated my reasons in some detail.
I know you have tried to rewrite history on this.
But for those that wish to check who is correct feel free to click on my name and read my posting history.
Bozi I have changed my position slightly. just read my last 3 days posts.
Because the book has changed and I reassessed.
You were wrong then ?
Isn't reassessing changing your view ?
A pretty big "reassessment" don't you think ?
As DBW implied, if and when a sale happens, you will have turned full circle and swear blind that's what you said would happen.
It's a bigger man that admits his mistakes but we know you'll just disappear and never come back.
Listen it’s simple as you’ve said I have been 100% wrong in saying this will be sold …. So far …. I agree
You have been 100% right in saying it’ll go to production… so far ….again Ill agree
When it’s sold you therefore have to be 100% wrong it’s that simple
Good grief Jezzoo why not read my posts and at least understand my reassessment.
You continue to make yourself look unintelligent.
No DBW that's not what I have said.
Read my posting history.
Is this company going to be sold off? As I read the post this morning Solgold/Cornerstone are looking for a partner, to me it smacks of a JV, just my take on DC’s wording.
Checked Solgold again, and The Australian, 16 hrs ago, 13.10.22 has a new preamble:
"Solgold's boss Darren Cuzzubbo told shareholders overnight on Wed, that MITSUI was ONE of a NUMBER of potential PARTNERS."
Atb
Oh I understand your reassessment alright !
And that's exactly what you are so scared of.
Being found out !
And people are starting to see the real you.
Tick Tock !
Quady - but surely you realise that people are finding it hard to reconcile your reassessment given your previous refusal to budge even in the slightest.
You're allowed to change your mind by the way but you've got to say "I previously thought there was no alternative to A but with X,Y and Z I have to now admit that B is a possibility/probability/certainty.
Why does a consolidation of Cascabel swing your opinion so much?
Okay Bozi a fair question.
I always thought that the diverse book made purchasing Solgold almost impossible.
With us acquiring CGP two things have changed.
First the book has become more diverse and BHP and NCM will be diluted.
Second ENSA is now 100% owned Solgold.
So I still believe that the purchase of Solgold is extremely unlikely.
But where my position has changed is because of the change of ENSA we can go two ways.
This can be mean we use it to raise funding on better terms.
Or we can put ENSA into a wrapper and treat it separately.
Hence JV or sell it.
I have always said I will reassess my position should the book change.
To my mind it's changed for the better.
After all many on here said BHP would acquire it and that would not be good.
Q, let me see if I've got this right.
The diverse book always meant we would never be taken over, but now it's become more diverse a takeover is more likely?
