"The murders of three young women in Ecuador has cast a spotlight on an explosion of violence in a country which has been brought to its knees by drugs gangs.". Headlines in pb americas
Just been reading about the problems equador has with kidnappings and murders of the countries elite. Not to mention the drug cartels heavy involvement in illegal mining.
Be interested to know what the views are of those far more knowledgeable than me. Bearing in mind it's now the number one murder and kidnapping center of south america. Surpassing Columbia.
What has that got to do with a multi billion pound exploration, seen it all before they always sort it out
Bubble according to the UN. This is the problem.
First paragraph of UN report on equador.
" Illegal mining and trafficking in precious metals negatively impact peace, stability, security, development, governance, the rule of law, the environment and the economy. Furthermore, illegal mining"
That's not to mention the murders and kidnappings.
Also bubble, equador changed their visitor visa recently. You can now stay 3 months with no visa, and renew 3 monthly.
Albanian gangs wasted no time exploiting this. They have completely taken over the import and distribution of hard drugs. Now run 90% of illegal mines. This is not someone's grandad on a donkey with a spade. These are ruthless vicious maffia gangs who murder and extort and kidnap at will. It's not an unreasonable question to ask if anyone thinks it could hinder investment in equador. I enclose the front page from a leading equador paper.
Ecuador is a sick country with the same symptom in all public and private structures, classified as: hired assassins, drug trafficking, corruption, blackmail, indolence, quemi-importismo, disinformation, violence, kidnappings, terrorism, etc., uncertain future.
Mexico's Citizen Council for Public Safety and Criminal Justice ranked Guayaquil 24th on the list of the most violent cities in 2022.
The government of President Guillermo Lasso has been facing severe criticism from nationals who denounce his failure to address the social and economic woes in the country.
In conclusion I'm trying not to deramp ( whatever that means). But I read on here yesterday that we need to get rid of the infesters, and get back to a balanced board. So this it what I'm doing,. Balancing the ever more rosey posts on here. To point out that there are still rough seas ahead to be dealt with.
I'm surprised Ukraine, Russia, Taiwan and the corrupt Met police aren't being thrown into the non deramping mix
I've just informed (by telephone) the Chinese Embassy in Quito of all this unruly behaviour by those Albanian chaps! I can honestly say that they were horrified by the reports from this bulletin board. They are looking at rescinding the 'Trade Agreement' promptly! Phew Cor Brimey, who took my call at the Embassy is still reeling from this breaking news! Mr Brimey commented......."how could we have been so dumb to sign a trade agreement"?
Things are looking rosy in the garden when all this stuff pops up!
Am not getting into any debate regarding drug gangs and illegal mining ,this happens all over the world , governments deal with this , Ecuador government have delt with it before this isn't new imho ,good point copperpot the Chinese wouldn't sign a trade deal if they thought they where getting involved in a corrupt drug dealing country imho ,may I suggest you read the current fundamentals of solgold and what they are actually doing to improve everything in Ecuador for all people that's why many of us are invested here for the future
Despite all the "balancing" views from needalife funny how he still supposedly decided to invest lol
The pros must outweigh the cons one would presume.
Or more likely he does not hold a single share.
Monte. I am invested in solg. And might add, since the aim days. I am also heavily invested in stm. Also in Equador. I have high hopes of a profit with solg. More so with stm. I am, and have only ever invested in exploration companies, I have made good profits over the years, and lost small fortunes. Unlike many on here, I am only to well aware of the pitfalls of holding shares in these types of companies and countries. you and others on here, who have only ever held shares in one company, need a dose of realism. There are pitfalls on the horizon. Not insurmountable but pitfalls non the less. And no amount of abuse to people pointing them out will alter it.
Bubble. Nobody is invested here for the future, nobody. We are all invested here for a profit.
Monte even seasoned pros like needalife get it wrong so not sure how he thinks he has the authority to warn others of the pitfalls.
Clearly he hasn't a clue what's going on here.
Well needy as you say "There are pitfalls on the horizon. Not insurmountable but pitfalls non the less. And no amount of abuse to people pointing them out will alter it." then more fool you for putting yourself in that predicament where the risk has become too great, There is only one person that has made you buy SOLG stock and that my friend is you. your whole post (15.03) is an oxymoron... ie "I have high hopes of a profit with Solg" When do you want me to come over and take those splinters out of your arris ?
Like I said constant nonsense being posted by anonymous posters...
ONWARDS & UPWARDS ;)))
Good e day novice. If you read my post. I never once said, or even implied that I thought the risk was to high for my investment. Not to sure where you got that from. Also the bit about splinters and arris has gone completely over my head. There lays my problem novice. Your superior wit and knowledge leave me light years behind. Thank goodness your still with us.
Smickster, I have the same authority to warn others of possible pitfalls, as you do to tell me daily that solg do no wrong, and will make me a fortune.
What a ridiculous post. Why do you think these boards exist.
Smickster. Also as with novice. I suggest you re read my post. I clearly stated I've lost small fortunes. Hardly a seasoned pro, as you claim I am. I'm afraid you both need to spend a bit longer digesting my posts, before you rush to abuse me.
