Let me remind people why your a figure of ridicule.
"We’re on our way, we’re on our way. To the major league, we’re on our way. How we get there I don’t know. How we get there I don’t care. All I know is Solgold’s on its way."
Embarrassing isn't it mate.
Most people sober up next morning, and reflect,
£2.50 by xmas
Why does slug pick things that are so easy to disprove?
Temperature in Catania on Monday was 47.6C. As in: 48C to 2 significant figures.
What a moron.
This is in large part what makes Slug the most unintelligent poster on here.
He doesn't understand the man made element of climate change.
He doesn't understand that it continuously adds to the ppm in the atmosphere and will continue to climb.
2 degrees of warming would be catastrophic for the world.
As it changes the food chain, and life on this planet.
Goodbye Slug.
What form do you think the restructure takes Slug? Pulling out of the core sale assets??? Surely that would require approval from us shareholders?
Great point slug, Saturday (last week) was only 46.5C, which is barely 7C hotter than the usual summers high temp. It's probably nothing and we should probably trust the oil companies and put our feet up... There are some smart climate change deniers out there, who understand the underlying science and can therefore sound credible. You a not one of these, and neither do you seem to read their 'research'. Lol.
Are you counting the first 500m years when the earth didn't have a solid crust in your calculations, sluggy? 🤣 Because, whilst there were no ice caps then, there was also 90+% CO2 in the atmosphere, and not a lot of life. I'd gladly let you visit somewhere like that and see how you get on?
You're as think as treacle but sadly we have to live on the same planet. Don't worry though, I think I take out more carbon dioxide through offset than you can produce in even your worst year. For each day you argue this claptrap on here I'll have my foundation pay to plant another 5 trees 🤣👍
Oh lets hope so, the right have handled things so well these past few years
Who do you believe the top minds at NASA and NOAA or slug.
It's a tough one isn't it.
Of course scientists have proven that manmade climate change is real.
Quady. R u that naive? Did u also fall for the safe and effective. And I guess you even believe it now too
Much to my surprise the new Chris Packham series, Earth, is excellent. Unlike the ludicrous Justin Rowlatt, Packham does a very good job of explaining climate change in a reasonable and non-hysterical manner. He makes it easy to understand and places it in the context of previous extreme events.
Having seen the programmes, I'm more convinced than ever that we would be better off spending a good part of the trillions on protecting humankind from the inevitable, rather than the futile attempts to reverse the process. Something I understand James Lovelock came to believe.
Gosh, slug, I didn't realize how deep the stupid went. It's all the way through you, isn't it.
Tell me: is there more than one place in Sicily? Do you think that, perhaps, the ESA know this little known fact too? And when they said it might reach 48C in Sicily (we are agreed that anything above 41C is closer to their estimate than your BS) they were referring to '48C somewhere in Sicily'?
Like saying 'the UK could reach 40C' and it reaches 38 I'm London, but you say it's only 28 in Wick? As I say, you're thick as treacle.

Good morning addicknt.
Earth Indeed is engaging and informative.
Great series.
Unfortunately we have already gone too far and while the requirement for net zero has never been more urgent.
We now need to scrub the atmosphere of CO2.
As net zero cannot be achieved tomorrow, and the man made element is still rising and is cumulative.
It's already going to take between 300 and 1,000 year's to reduce the manmade part naturally if we achieved net zero tomorrow with no scrubbing of the atmosphere.
Slug, we can't carry on my lecture until you admit that it was nearly 48C in Sicily last week, and that the ESA were therefore right and you just didn't think to check more than one town. Come on, own your stupid rather than trying to deflect.
I'm happy to school you on COVID, too, but let's clear up your original mistake (today) first 👍
He's right Quady, I googled it .
https://www.nasa.gov/feature/greening-of-the-earth-mitigates-surface-warming
Oh my word, you can't even use basic logic. One thing to be taken in by the tin hat brigade based on their pseudo science and behavioral tricks, but you have lost the thread of your own argument!
The ESA can measure what they like - you said they were incorrect for predicting the temperature in Sicily would be 48C last week. It was over 46.5C in the event (well within tolerance for a forecast). The website you sent a link to uses air temperature! So I ask you, once again, to admit that you just googled weather in Sicily last week and jumped on the first numbers you found, without considering that there are multiple weather stations in the area. Just admit your mistake and we'll move one!
Jezzoo he is trying to confuse people.
All climate change is based on ground temperature.
He is pretending its based on air temperature.
He is even more an idiot than i believe he is.
Please read the NASA post I posted at 09.41 today.
As at the bottom of the page you have articles that are accurate and informative and reasonably easy to understand.
I realise not all peer review can be easily understood and you need to work your way slowly through it.
But there is zero doubt man made climate change is changing our planet and not for the better.
Addicknt mentioned a series called Earth earlier on.
Watch it, it shows how climate change is changing life on this planet and this is not in the future it's happening now.
The part that looks at dolphins is truly fascinating.
Jezzoo read the article you posted it is an indication that the planet has almost reached saturation point.
When that happens CO2 levels will rise even faster and warming will accelerate.
He's talking rubbish. But some on here are too stupid to question him.
I don't include you Jezzoo as you are checking what is said on here.
No no, slug, you have to admit that the ESA and all of their clever scientists were right, and you don't know anything about meteorology or weather. Come on now, suck it up big boy. Admit your error.
I am watching it, I'm no fan of the BBC's politics but they are world leaders in documentaries, must be to do with the fact they are spending other peoples money, it's difficult trying to zone out Packham though.
Champaign eco warrior with a net worth of £4m whilst trying to pretend he's Swampy's cousin and living in a carbon neutral hut.
How temperature is measured is largely irrelevant to the colour coding of weather charts and forecasts, which is completely arbitrary anyway. Want to make 35C blue so people think it's chilly? Be my guest.
Let us return to what we're actually talking about though (no getting of the hook for this sluggy bait!)
You said the ESA predicted 48C in Sicily last week. Then you tried to claim evidence of scaremongering by pointing out that last week's high temps for Sicily were in the mid-30s. Then I realised you'd just googled 'weather Sicily last week', clicked on the first link, which didn't include the hottest temperatures recorded in Sicily, and come here to paste said link. When I pointed out that it had reached well over 46C in Sicily (not a difficult bit of research!) and therefore the ESA were correct in their predictions (within tolerance) you went quiet on the matter. Anything wrong there?! 😂 You are too easy to beat, slug- maybe take an evening class or something?
Well that completes Slugs profile.
He is a rac.ist, who has a hatred of women and expresses far right propaganda.
He doesn't know anything about the COVID vaccine or climate change.
He doesn't even have a TV licence, so gets all his unchecked facts off the internet and still misinterupts them.
I have this vision of this grown man child sitting in a cupboard on his PC wearing a tin foil hat and nappy, so he won't be susceptible to thought wave's by the government or aliens from another planet.
This has got to be the most unintelligent person on the planet.
Pick any forecaster you like. Their methods are on their website.
48C predicted, 46.5C measured. Not the mid-30s you claimed. Are you saying you were correct to claim Sicily hadn't got up to the high 40s? Sluggy, you're rumbled. You didn't do enough research (story of this BB) and it was easy to disprove your incorrect ramblings.
Slug is lying again and hoping no one will challenge him.
The BBC story quotes the ESA.
The European space agency.
They have not switched their way of measuring.
They have always used ground temperature.
He knows nothing about climate science.
Seriously tell me when the midlands has been hotter in July, than Dubai, in the last century or ever.
I suppose you know that Dubai residents move to Europe in the summer and there is a reason for that are they all not as bright as you or perhaps you have got it wrong!
Just give it up with the rubbish you post.
The Midlands would never be close to Dubai temps in July never mind hotter…..
