The BT in my opinion this is not a silver bullet indeed I do not think there is or in the short term will be one.
But looking at how this system could be used, OK Cunard's Cruise Terminal Southampton, a few days before you depart a BT is posted to you, FOC from Cunard, it’s yours to keep, the day you depart you present yourself at the departure desk and hand over you BT chip which is then scanned, your clear, no covid on your breath, your on board, every day of your 14day cruise you take a test at a predetermined time on the ship, get the all clear, mix and mingle at you leisure in the certain knowledge everyone on board has been tested, oh and add in the safety feature of RAW testing for the covid virus in the waste water.
Now I am no salesman but this looks an easy sell to me, for a £30.00 BT unit and £4.00 a day that's the Cruise industry open for £86.00 per person for a 14 day holiday, and of course, perhaps people would be happy to pay a premium for the knowledge that your traveling companions are tested daily.
And as I have said countless times before Covid it not the reason I invested in the first place.
Exactly, nailed it. I go (well used to) on cruises all the time and the company could basically pass the cost on to the customer without really knowing anyway. Cruises are strangely loyal to the sea so anything to get the voyages going will be a winner and with over half a million customers worldwide on ships its a great market to tap into and thats one industry
And we know GB has been talking with the cruise industry.
Doesn't matter GB helped ramp the price up and people now sitting on actual/paper loses. Shouldn't say news is coming to help pump and dump the share when sales are forecasted sometime during Q1 2021.
Mentioned Dell as a partner at the presentation and still waiting for a rns confirming this.
Glebewhite - couldn't agree more, such a cost is easily lost in the price of a cruise, I for one would rather have a 'free' Covid test in the way you describe than the 'free' $100 on board spend so frequently offered - I can only assume that discussions are ongoing in this arena, as you say, imagine rocking up to any Chairman or CEO of a cruise line and demonstrating what we have here and saying "we can install and manage this for you if you like at all your cruise terminals around the globe, oh and while we are here what about our waste water detection which we can install on every ship in various places so we could let you know if anyone has Covid before they do, we could probably even tell you which cabin they are likely to be in....."
Even I reckon I could secure that deal in the present climate, and I am not sure they would even haggle on the price!
I am being a little facetious of course, but I am expecting some news on this before Xmas.
